Pros
Exposure to aerospace projects, work with competent employees learning design standards, FAA requirements, top CAD/PDM tools.Salary and bBenefits are competitive on the market , exposure to OEM projects and documentations.
Cons
lack of project management oversight, lack of coordination first level management- employees, workshop not very organized and not well defined processes to be able to get big OEM projects.Poor employee retention, high turnover.
Advice to Senior Management
Hire better project managers, get more exciting projects and get more work from Boeing. Try to hookup Europeans aero-structure projects. Convert to catia V5.
Pros
Quite possibly none. This company was recently taken over from BE Aerospace Inc. US but I do not see any pros in this. Good for starters. The company gives a good start point for people who have just graduated or are trying to enter the field but otherwise not a good company.
Cons
They treat employees quite unfairly. Leave policies were badly managed for some employees who were sent onsite(myself and a colleague) which resulted in a loss of 18 leaves all because company wanted to make money. While some higher level management personnel exactly knew how to utilize all their leaves before the merger, many lower end staff were left clueless about the leaves till the very last date. Unfair pay was given and the same is being continued after the merger to preserve the "PROFIT" which the higher management makes. Promotions are given scarcely though employees are top graduates from their respective universities. There is no process management so new employees are made to go through on the job training which can be really bad for new comers.
Advice to Senior Management
Learn to respect your employees. Profit is not everything. Your employees drive your profits so if you mess your employees, you are ultimately losing money in training new folk. You have high attrition because of your unfair practices.
Pros
Traveling to other countries on the company's dime is a clear advantage. Finish your work early and have a blast touring and sight seeing.
Cons
Management demands that you be on call 24/7 and 365 days without excuses. Long hours and less recognition to say the least.
Advice to Senior Management
Get off the thrown and get in the field instead of hearing only the good news of what is actually happening with the workers.
Pros
B/E offers great medical and retirment packages along with an employee stock purchase program. Management is also understanding of family restrictions.
Cons
Senior Management very often lies to themselves about the level of lean processes used facility and company wide. Nepitism is a huge negative.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to your employees about the obstacles we face on a daily basis to deliver a quality, on time product. Senior management has a get it done attitude which is great but employees are made to put out fires that all too often could have been avoided. Once a fire is extinguished, notjing is done to make certain it is not a singular occurence. We lie to ourselves about being lean. We are far from lean! We could be making a ridiculous amount of money if more attention was placed on the left of the time line.
Pros
Coworkers are pleasant people. Idoor out of rain. limited resources, Location, pay is every 2 weeks. tv all around to look at
Cons
Traditional "Command & Control" management.
Poor communication at all levels.
Pressure-packed to work way more than 40 hours/week.
Little resources for Quality department.
Engineering ineptitude.
Old equipment, low-cost country materials.
Cheap.
Culture of micro-management abounds.
Inflexible work schedules.
Lowball offers of compensation.
Terrible computer systems.
Severe lack of modern-day manufacturing practices.
Quota-based hiring.
Executive-level "leadership" is very secretive and unseen.
Spend money on all but its people. Management is very rude to hourly. No raise or incentives and no training
Over managed, micro managed, rigid structure.
Things are poorly managed, they are very unorganized, small office corporate politics all the time. Unfair treatment of employees who are not part of the "in" crowd
They exhibit classic senior management deficiencies that lead to a dead end job. I am not venting here, just telling it straight. The company is well known in the local area to have bad management and has exhibited a history of bad dealings with various customers resulting in those customers going elseware
Advice to Senior Management
Trust your people. Hourly are not slaves but people too. Tvs cost money and people do as well. You get what you pay for!
Pros
- Reasonable pay for the area (but not the industry)
- Benefits comparable to other firms
- Company expanding
Cons
- Rampant Cronyism
- Micro management is standard practice
- Unclear standards, policies and procedures
- Unrealistic expectations
- Unreasonable work hours with reprimands when too many/too little hours are worked
- High level of office politics at all levels of management
- Employees encouraged to do what it takes to push projects through, regardless of legalities
- Disrespect of employees by management
- Lack of communication
- Low employee morale across the board
Advice to Senior Management
- Communicate effectively with personnel
- Encourage and influence good decisions with clear direction, insight and follow up
- Listen to properly channeled concerns and complaints
Pros
There are great opportunities to work with new technology systems that B/E Aerospace is working with. If quality assurance is your area, this is a great company to work for.
Cons
The overall morale of the employees seems to be quite low. There seems to be a hyper-focus on "time at the desk" and there is a lot of "mandatory overtime." Also, the pay could be much better.
Advice to Senior Management
Should hire more employees, rather than implementing mandatory overtime and reducing the overall employee morale.
Pros
Room for advancement if you have the quality.
Cons
Management seems not to care
Pros
-Helpful HR department
-Decent salary/benefits
-Competent managers
Cons
-Workplace is somewhat crowded
-Lack of communication
Advice to Senior Management
More communication would be helpful on all levels. Managers should be more dedicate more time toward workers.
Pros
Challenging work environement and limited resources
Cons
understaffed and you ahve to work long hours
Advice to Senior Management
Better communication
