    Pros

    BEA was a pay for performance company. Employees worked hard but were rewarded with stock, bonuses, raises, group gatherings, dinners, etc. They really worked hard to make their employees happy.

    They sold their company to Oracle

    Entrepreneurial company with a great product who treated their customers well which made everyone happy to work there.

    Cons

    Had to be very quarterly revenue driven because the larger companies on the space were publicly talking about where we were not growing our customer base, and therefore weren't going to be around for the future..

    Spent time and resources training their people properly.
    Great benefits.
    Flexibility in working environment.

    Acquired by Oracle and then everything wen to pot.
    The compensation was a bit low.
    The opportunities for advancement were hard to come by as they liked to hire from outside of the company.

    Everyone at BEA Systems was very smart and motivated to be the best in the industry and beat the competition.

    Cons

    In it's efforts to cut costs, the company had under funded the products that drove the bulk of its revenues.
