I worked at BJ's Wholesale Club

    Pros

Working here was so much fun. Such a positive place and really intelligent management. To work for such innovative folks is worth getting up in the a..m.

    Cons

Deadlines, crunch-time could be stressful. A little top heavy in the management area.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value the mid-line workers a bit more and it will go a long way. Too many cooks in the kitchen.

I worked at BJ's Wholesale Club part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent wages, tons of hours, friendly co workers, ability to move up, never a dull moment.

    Cons

favoritism from management, sometimes to many hours, if you complain, they punish you through scheduling. (exp: if you want more hours, they give you less, or vise versa), a lot of politics. As a part time position, you work full time plus hours, but are not allowed to ask for benefits. If you do, the next schedule you will have your hours cut in half.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Less favoritism, gossiping is unprofessional, take responsibility for your wrong choices with out using employees as scapgoats.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at BJ's Wholesale Club part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Coworkers and benefits are the two greatest aspects of this company. They have a high standard for their employees and it ensures that teamwork is emphasized heavily among the lower level employees.

    Cons

Management is very disconnected. The standards for managers at BJ's Wholesale Club does not equate to those of the entry level employees they hire. Management is heavily influenced by corporate decisions and they are made to feel powerless.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The training given at BJ's Wholesale Club is adequate. Managers do not need to micromanage their employees to the extent that they do, it does nothing but slow progress.
