    Pros

B.J's presents an opportunity to build customer service skills while working in the retail industry

    Cons

Too many chiefs not enough Indians

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper Management should back supervisors when needed.

    Pros

Small raise every 6 months, paid holidays, time a a half on Sundays, paid weekly

    Cons

Always called on days off so no social life. Only get a good raise if you promote rewards membership. Management does not know how to professionally treat team members. Team members who barely do anything are favored over the ones who bust their butts!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn how to appreciate the employees who give their all and always come in to help!

    Pros

Working with a lot of good, underpaid people. Free membership.

    Cons

Payroll cut to levels that directly affect the customer experience. I hear day in and day out from customers who could never find anyone to help them. This is because there is no staff in the club other than cashiers yet they keep hiring AVP's of this or that who seldom have a clue of what's really happening. This company is so top heavy its laughable. I have seen too many good managers/full-time employees get fired or quit because of the unrealistic demands put forth. If you like micromanagement in a top down fear for my job style environment, this is the place for you. Hopefully you work in a club where the GM has a bit of intestinal fortitude; that makes conditions barely passable but if not, beware! Unfortunately the number of managers that will actually stick up for anyone other than themselves is declining rapidly. Morale is as low as I have ever seen it and does not look to change anytime soon. Management constantly contradicting itself on almost a daily basis.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Undercover Boss would be a great idea. Get in the trenches with the worker bees to see what really goes on. HR does come in to ask questions but everyone I know is afraid to say anything because of fear of retaliation. If you do say something, nothing is ever done about it. Some AVP's need training on professionalism.

    Pros

A lot of good people in individual performer and low-mid management roles.

    Cons

In IT, there is a total disconnect between stated values regarding work environment and actual practice. Contributions are not fairly evaluated and good performance goes largely unnoticed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's time to get top leaders who know what they are doing in IT, and will cultivate talent by creating an environment of integrity and willingness to change.

    Pros

Good moral support from fellow sales people, and you get a free membership to BJ's

    Cons

No support from management nor the company. The compensation package is horrendous. you will probably either have to pick up a second job or wind up leaving. VERY VERY slow in reimbursing you for travel expenses.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to realize that in order to attract and keep talented sales people, they need to compensate them in a competitive manner as well as follow through with their promises and financial support.

    Pros

Your co-workers are always great. They're the true heroes the ones that get you through the day.

    Cons

Management is terrible. They don't care too much for their employees and the working conditions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't act behind your employees backs. They work for you, but you need to take their advice into account. The open door policy only works if you actually implement it.

    Pros

Great area to work in really good to new employees some managers will take a minute to see how you are

    Cons

Telling others business, lost touch with good employees for gossiping employees, would only discourage employees that really put forth an effort, even if you know what your doing alot of times your still doing it wrong and this is typically toward employees that have been there awhile, playing with your hours

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It aint high school , and please stop telling good employees promises like im gonna put you here or your really good im gonna raise your hours then lower the person hours

    Pros

The pay was good for the work and the guys you work with are cool. They are willing to help one another and help the night go by faster. There is also a job board posted in the break room for job openings.

    Cons

Mostly heavy lifting and management is a little unorganized. I once had to move a pallet of 75 pound items three times because the supervisor didn't understand the layout sheet. Also the forklift drivers tend to go flying by so you have to be looking for them as you come out of an isle.
