I worked at BJ's Wholesale Club part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

i was very happy working with the people who came in to shop and many of the people i worked with but just had a hard time with the register. to many transactions

    Cons

they just hired me to work as a cashier and i guess they didnt think i was fast learning it but i only was trained with someone for 2 days then left alone.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

i think the people who are down stairs just standing around chatting and getting mad because you call them over for help should pay more attention the the person who is calling them than the workers they are chatting with. some supervisor's have a very bad judgement of people and a bad attitude

I have been working at BJ's Wholesale Club part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Easy to learn, friendly coworkers, overtime pay on Sundays, free membership

    Cons

Disorganized management, extreme pressure to sell Rewards memberships, extremely busy on weekends, too many hours for a part-timer (30+)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management wastes too much time talking to each other rather than paying attention to their cashiers, leaving them to be overwhelmed by the many customers that come in. Also, they need to prioritize educating the new hires and making them more useful over their desperate need for Rewards memberships. Not to mention, the large amount of hours they give me (30+) even though I'm part-time. I wake up every morning and contemplate calling out; that is literally the first thought that enters my head. If you are a quick learner and you don't mind earning minimum wage while dealing with many pleasant and some unpleasant customers and supervisors who don't really care about you enough to help, then this job is for you, even then you'll find yourself wishing you were elsewhere.

    Pros

Free membership, A paycheck, will work with your availability.

    Cons

Promotions only if they like you. Management Think they know it all, you are a nobody, clueless???

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get off your lazy butts and help instead of sitting in your office talking about the ones working. Promotions should go to the ones willing to work instead off the ones that can't do their job so you move them up!!!!!! Very unfair!!!
