I worked at BNP Paribas full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The people were wonderful; very good software and online training; not a lot of overtime; good compensation; great community spirit - lots of opportunities to participate in charitable programs

    Cons

There should be more perks for lower-level employees (i.e, access to foreign language classes - not just if it's job-related; mediation and yoga classes on premises; raffle off a trip to the Head Office; raffle off a few tickets to sporting events sponsored by the company)

I worked at BNP Paribas full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Excellent work life balance. Friendly atmosphere depending on office. International vibe, with colleagues from all over the globe, not just France. Decent base salary at junior levels.

    Cons

Usually in second place to the more bigger brand names in banking, eg, often not the lead bank in transactions. Bureaucratic. Some employees on the payroll because Daddy is an important client of the bank back in Paris. Risk averse culture, merit pay is minimal

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Adopt the best elements of the local business culture, eg more merit pay in the U.S., while still keeping the best elements of European culture, eg work life balance.
