    Pros

The Houston office is located in the heart of downtown, which is very vibrant. There are plenty of windows in the office so it didn't completely feel like working in a dungeon.

    Cons

Underpaid, overworked, lack of adequate training, analytics department structure was disorganized, tight deadlines, high stress, lack of upward mobility, lack of culture made it difficult to get to know coworkers.

    Pros

The pay check comes every week such as it is.

    Cons

Senior management does not believe that employees below the senior levels are important to the overall company success and treats them as cogs to be replaced at will. The company routinely equates the cost of the government fines and loses they create with the number of lower level people they will need to fire.

    Advice to Management

Get serious about running your business. Stop worrying about what other companies are doing and run BNYM. Get serious, you need to devote the resources necessary to achieve the results you say you want.

    Pros

Great way to break into the business, lots of resources and mentors, interesting work I am doing which you can see the results.

    Cons

Disorganized, don't always have something to do, lots of hoops to jump through in order to gain clearance to certain amenities.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to micro-manage so much and allow your employees to work individually and in teams without being hounded.

    Pros

Work/life balance is okay. You work 40 hrs, even though they try to guilt you into working more hours for free. Don't work for free, that's called slavery.

    Cons

Terrible management. No managers really know your desk and are too busy with their own problems to actually.... "manage". To avoid being a manage themselves, you are expected to manage your own work and notify managers if you are too busy by 3-4pm. However you can't accurately predict this, so sometimes you are not done by the end of day. They then try to passively convince you to work for free in the evening hrs by guilting you.

    - Terrible classes provided to learn. Managers do not fill in, or help when you are busy.
    - Outdated excel macros that do not run reports correctly, causing inaccurate data in the result, which has been sent out to other internal groups for months/years.
    - Cussing and swearing from staff / managers is allowed, creating a negative work environment.
    - Inability for managers to take in constructive criticism: if you speak out on anything that goes wrong, you get black listed and treated negatively. You become an outsider and they do not want to deal with you. This is not how a workplace is designed to keep employees and foster a positive atmosphere.

    - Disparity on workload between employees. Some employees may only have work that takes them 2-4 hrs to finish in an 8 hr day, while others are rushing to finish in 8 hrs. This goes back to the lack of management. They ask employees to step in and help, but that's not our job. Your job as a "manager" is to manage people, which includes workload of each person. If you fail to understand the workload, that is your fault as a manager and not the employees.

    - Constant issues with other internal teams failing to do their job correctly. This makes everyone else's job harder.
    - Long response times with other internal teams, causing your client to remain unhappy and put you as the scapegoat, when really you are not in control.

    Advice to Management

Recognize talented individuals and provide incentives for them to stay. Everyone leaves this god-forsaken place because there is no room for growth. There is no reward for doing a good job, helping others, staying late, doing more than your fair share.
