    I worked at BNY Mellon

    Pros

Finding a light-hearted and enlightening summer banking internship in New York City is quite difficult, but BNY Mellon is one of the few large banks to accomplish this uncommon mission. You work alongside intelligent professionals who give a helping hand as long as you ask nicely. Most of the employees understand that there should be a work-life balance in order to be a successful individual. Almost all of the interns have access to the senior staff members in their department that are always willing to answer any question. All interns have a final project at the end of the program that aggregates all of the aspects of their respective department. The project is judged based on creativity and understanding of the department's functions. Very enlightening! Additionally, you have field trips to Bloomberg, Lazard, and the BNY Mellon Museum.

    Cons

There are no perks for this company and receiving over-time payment is quite hard. Depending on the department and team to which you are assigned, work varies throughout the summer.

Great work life balance. Plenty of things to do beyond "work" like being a member of employee groups and volunteer activities.
