Pros
Flexible schedule, Fitness facilities, Free weblearn courses
Cons
Performance reviews are not based on the 360 feedback model.
Advice to Senior Management
Reward great performance with spot bonuses
Implement 360 feedback
Compensate fairly based on educational background and work experience in alignment with industry standards.
Pros
worldwide opportunities
each employee responsible for high $
very high salaries (oil and gas a very overpaid industry)
Cons
the Gulf disaster
Doesn't spend enough on pipeline replacements in oil fields
bonuses way too high in oil and gas industry - it isn't needed
Advice to Senior Management
Stop with the insane bonuses to Management
Put the $ back into corroded pipeline replacement
Lead your co-owners to do this
Pros
Big company and various locations. Opportunities for grouth
Cons
D&I needs to be improved
Advice to Senior Management
Do less process
Pros
nice environment to work in
Cons
terrible working hours and work schedules
Advice to Senior Management
dont let the customers take advantage of you
Pros
BP is very big on diversity which is a good thing. They are also big on training and have an extensive training program for undergrads and new hires. Also the office politics are kept to a minimum compared with other companies
Cons
Wish they had more of a global representation in the US
Pros
Come and go as you please; ok office location; they try to do nice things for the employees
Cons
few, if any, advancement opportunities, e.g. old timers waiting around to get packaged out; record profits the last several years with little giveback to the employees, e.g. bonuses cut, no merit increases, etc.; just a "weird" place to work
Advice to Senior Management
a couple thousand dollars to you may not mean much, but its how those of us not at the top rung survive.
Pros
Pretty Good people to work with.
Very friendly working environment
Good 401k benefit company match
Good medical and other benefits
Cons
Management does not listen to lower employees
Poor delegation of work and responsibilities
Poor compensation for working extra
Poor career advancement
Little ability to choose where you move to
Advice to Senior Management
Give employees more choice in career placement. Reorganize the entire management structure and the work processes to make everything more efficient. Don't look at low level employees as expendable.
Pros
Good work life balance
Less stressful than US companies
Cons
too consultative, wanting consensus for almost every decision
no tough decisions
Advice to Senior Management
To be more performance driven...reward for strong performance. Current reward appears to reward people for "cruising", not motivating people to strive harder at all.
Pros
worklife balance - most balanced of the companies I have ever worked in
great people - folks are generally very generous with new hires and good working environment
Cons
slow in making decisions
very headquartered centric
need to walk the talk more about the D&I agenda
Advice to Senior Management
Need to push more opportunities to those in MOW
Pros
some departments much better than others
Cons
hr deptment is very incompatent
Advice to Senior Management
there are a lot of free loaders just taking up space and doing absolutely nothing!
