    Pros

Great place to work and the money is not to bad.good career prospects if you want to progress in the company

    Cons

None that I know but will let you know of any change.traveling to work is way too expensive and I'm fed up of these train companies putting up their fare year in and year out.

    Advice to Management

    Be sensible

I worked at BP (More than a year)

    Pros

Diverse and Inclusive employeer and generous allowances when sent on overseas assignments

    Cons

Opportunities for promotion are limited and the company culture is to bring external candidates to fill positions. Lots of office politics and senior exposure is paramount to please your hiring manager

I worked at BP full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good salary, reward package and a great work life balance.

    Cons

Although you encourage all employees to have the courage to speak up if they're unhappy, many still feel unable to do so. Something to work on.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at BP as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

The communication within the team I worked in was very good as was the morale within the team. Good benefits, Fresh fruit daily, nine day fortnight.

    Cons

Some long term "Company Men" who cannot innovate and spout "but we have always done it this way". Quite difficult to deviate from Company Specs although it is possible. Some tedious Action Tracking requirements.

    Advice to Management

Allow more freedom to the younger Engineers and hire Contractors outside the pool of previous employees, there are some good people overlooked.

I have been working at BP as an intern

    Pros

Great company and culture. Positive environment for learning the skills required for a successful career in the field.

    Cons

There are really no cons to provide for the BP internship program. HR is doing a great job with the structure. One point of improvement could be the introduction of more social events with the different teams.

    Advice to Management

Make sure interns get the full picture of what a career at BP entails. One possibility is introducing more social events where full-time employees are also present.

I worked at BP full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pre-Deepwater Horizon (i.e. pre-2010) - a great company to work for; innovative; exciting; interesting challenges; career opportunities. A place to be proud of working. Post-2010 - still some interesting challenges to deliver at scale (but not as many). Great people to work with - experienced and capable team members who make time to listen and share.

    Cons

Bureaucratic at times; been through significant downsizing challenges and more now hitting the team; becoming a demoralising place to work. Females in senior roles are few and far between and those who are there are getting fewer. Less of a meritocracy now than 6 years ago.

    Advice to Management

Stop focussing on numbers only; make a real intervention re females at senior levels and stop listening to the excuses; value career progression and make opportunities and a meritocracy happen; recognise that running an multinational business means employees have to travel sometimes, not everything can happen over the phone. The O&G industry may be in the doldrums but not every industry is, so be careful of how many team members leave because they can find better opportunities elsewhere.
