    Pros

The pay wasn't as bad as other places I have worked, employee discount.

    Cons

The warehouse is poorly supervised, beware of the employees that make Quality Control I was threatened by a couple of them.

    Advice to Management

Make time to fully train your employees.

    Pros

Great people to work with. Each "CSR" runs their cube like its their own business which is great. There is no micro managing and the management in this division is great to work for. If you're looking to learn about the sporting goods industry this is a good position to start in.

    Cons

The culture within the headquarters makes it seem like this position is less important than others. This is directly shown in the pay compared to other internal positions.

    Advice to Management

This position could be a work from home job. A set pay raise structure installed would also be nice.

    Pros

Management starts at the top, and BSN senior management gets it. They do everything they can to help their 500+ salespeople, and support people do their job more efficiently and make $! The BSN family is tight knit and you feel like you are truly part of a team.

    Cons

As in any large organization, it is hard to advance upward into management. With that said, if you are producing, you are recognized and fast tracked.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up! Fantastic job always looking out for your workers and truly making us feel like we are part of a team.

Great co-workers, easy work, don't need a college degree.

    Cons

Absolutely no upward mobility. Takes about 5 years to get a promotion. Archaic sales methodologies. Capped commissions. Dead end job. Poor management.

    Advice to Management

    Retire.

    Pros

Extensive 6-week training program to learn SAP software, and they hire straight out of undergrad.

    Cons

Feel like there is no possibility for advancement, you'll have 3-6 managers all coming by to tell you to do things differently from the other ones, nothing matters but numbers and making a certain number of calls per day. I was hitting my sales goals with the highest profit margin in the whole department, but it didn't matter to them at all if I didn't make all 60 phone calls per day, it's mind-numbing. People there had been working for 15-20 years, still making the same base-salary that I started at (35,000 annually), that's terrible. They wanted me to get to work early and leave late for only 35K a year, not going to happen.

    Advice to Management

Have only one supervisor per department giving direction, and allow your sales people some flexibility and a little more control. Coming to work there every day was extremely oppressive and you really feel like you are going no-where. Offer reviews and raises.

    Pros

would not recommend....run away, run very fast. A company way too big for its own good. Impossible to find help internally.

    Cons

numbers are all that matter. Had worst manager of my professional career. An absolute tool. No training, no strategy, nothing else matters except selling

    Advice to Management

    slow down, train your people.

    Pros

M-F, 8:30-5:00, Benefits. Not much else positive.

    Cons

Terrible pay, no reviews, no raises. Company run by salesmen. No one else matters.

    Advice to Management

People make a company. You better start treating the non-sales people much better.

I have been working at BSN Sports full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good place to get some experience in sales and managing a territory. Provided extensive training on most aspects of the job.

    Cons

Getting help from outside departments was almost impossible. Seemed as though when you needed something done that required help from accounting, distribution, or product managers no one was available to speak to

    Advice to Management
