Pros
Good benefits & work to life balance
Cons
Impersonal - most job functions outsourced
Pros
Good work life balance and decent benefits
Cons
Management does not foster career growth or development. Too political and not enough merit based recognition
Pros
Before the company was taken over, Infonet was a company where everyone worked closely together, and coworkers almost felt like family (in the good sense of the word). Energetic, and flexible, things were created and people made it work. After the merger with BT, things became more organized, official, structured and additional services became available (more opportunities to sell).
Cons
After the merger, decision making processes seemed to be slower, more people had to be involved, things seem to take longer to be resolved. However, I believe that this was also due to the fact that the organisations still had to fully merge services and retrain people on the new processes (while also still using the old processes).
Pros
Good vacation benefits. Better than average US based companies.
Cons
No raises in 4 years and laid off unexpectedly when other lackluster employees can keep their head down and do dismal work survive by being yes men.
No sense of direction by management caused a total failure for our group to survive, jobs moving to non US countries, would have been better if BT never bought Infonet Corp.
Lackluster customer service after losing top talent, as management more aware of their failing and protecting themselves than listening to people on the floor for improvement.
Advice to Senior Management
Get a new job before the ship sinks into oblivion, BT has proven once before, Concert anyone?, that they cannot do business in the US.
