    Pros

The staff is very friendly and feels like family. This is a fun fast paced environment to work in. Tips are great.

    Cons

The restaurant is open 365 days a year. If you are not used to working extremely hard this job is not for you!

    Advice to Management

Try encouraging staff once in awhile instead of pointing out everything that you think is wrong. Look at the numbers & customer reviews & listen to what they are telling you.

    Pros

Product easy to sell, corporate provides pertinent marketing materials (or used to), pay is ok, hours are ok

    Cons

company doesn't pay vendors, "slow to pay" is the motto preached by president of the company! commission is only 2%, operations is expected to run on a skeleton crew so often restaurants are understaffed, operations managers and kitchen managers are overworked and underappreciated also they never receive a bonus

    Advice to Management

    pay your bills

    Cons

Similar to any serving job, difficult to move up and unfavorable hours.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Fun and you make a lot of money if you put the hours in - you can make a lot of friends while you're there and there's great teamwork.

    Cons

corporate is extremely detached from the day to day operations of how things actually work. A lot of rules that hinder the process of just simply providing a good guest experience.

    Pros

Base Compensation. Culture. Immediate Coworkers. Restaurant atmosphere. Lively and upbeat dining experience. Name on the front door. Sausage stuffed shells were delicious.

    Cons

Everything else. Employees are only allowed 28 hours each (I wish I knew that rule before accepting an offer). Not only can NO ONE explain the bonus structure, it is basically non-existent. Food is not good. Regional managers change policies and procedures on a weekly basis. Turn over is so high that you will be stuck doing a staff member job or 2 management roles the moment you enter your location. Management training is absolutely terrible and does not set you up for success unless you are internally promoted.

    Advice to Management

From someone who has worked with many corporate restaurants, fire your regional and hire competent leaders. When you have regional managers who constantly pass the blame onto everyone around them, you will constantly have high turnover and and poorly run restaurants. Your Northern California locations are proof of this. How this has not been seen or addressed thus far is ridiculous... Buca has already failed once. If operations continue as is, Planet Hollywood will take all the blame..

    Pros

its a really fun place. you may have time to spend on your own but working there is rather entertaining than boring.
Colleagues are very nice. International to an extent but too many people work there from Ethiopia.

    Cons

as a Host you will not earn any tips.
straight 10$ hr and nothing more.
30hrs a week is promised but never or at least almost never kept.
you may have weeks with 15 hrs only.

    Advice to Management

    quit

    Pros

Management treats employees respectfully and it is easy to take days off. Pay is pretty decent for serving and it is fun to serve family style.

    Cons

There are no hourly pay increases for servers. The only way to get a raise is to join the management team. Store managers are awesome, but district managers are very strict and too corporate-y. Also, no paid time off. Unless you are a supervisor or in management, you are not allowed to work more than 28 hours. You have to work nights to make money, and that makes it difficult to have a personal/social life.

    Advice to Management

Become more customer focussed and the dollars will come. If you're dollar focussed, the customers will never come.
