I have been working at Bacall & Conniff
Pros – Small office enviorment. Great location in Financial District, Boston. Opportunities to work on various tasks daily; payrolls, tax preperations, business plans, budgets, financial statements. Profit sharing plan.
Cons – not a lot of room for growth or advancement becaue it is a small office and firm. Management communication is poor when it comes to firm news, events, client news, or good jobs done. Managment quick to criticize or point out mistakes with little or no offer to assist with correcting in the future. Horrible benefit packages. HR is slow to respond to requests. Management out of office often and unavailable for consult on daily operations or questions. No annual reviews
Advice to Senior Management – monthly FIRM meetings to update on status of items or news and allow for feedback from rest if staff, not just the prrinciples. Annual reviews for employees to help with growth and advancement of career for accounting staff. Don't worry so much about mundane operational items (filing, spreadsheets, etc) and help focus on the best ways to keep staff keeping clients happy through superior service. Hire a marketing professional to agressivley attaract and pull in clients
