Former Employee – worked at Badger Cab
Pros – Very flexible schedule, cash in pocket daily, meet interesting people. There is a unique freedom and independence of moving the population around a city. It is sometimes a fun sort of game to interact with customers, plot and execute geographical transposition, and manipulate/ garner funds.
Cons – Self employment taxes, no benefits, too many interesting people, high stress. You are on your own. There is competition with all the other drivers in the fleet and competing cab companies, the city, the county, and with customers and management. There is a high level of distrust of other cab drivers with whom you compete, physically, for your income.
Advice to Senior Management – Provide financial help/ advice to drivers. Make drivers legal employees.
