Pros – This is my second job early in my career and am very happy. The pay and benefits are great. The office is beautiful. All the people I work with are really down to earth and understanding. I could see myself being here for a few years or for a couple decades. It all depends on the promotion track. Otherwise I have no intentions of leaving at the moment.

Cons – Political like most companies are and a very structured promotion schedule.

Pros – Enjoyed the type of work being done at that level. Gave access to several different things going on and a vast amount of knowledge in different areas.

Cons – Sometimes long hours but that is to be expected. Not consistently long hours which was nice.

Pros – Excellent benefits, perks. Great place to work for a motivated, driven, autonomous person. Work is even more interesting when there is opportunity to work across departments.

Cons – Company has gotten large enough so small company/familial feel has been somewhat lost.

Pros – The company is full of smart, energetic people. The analysts are very friendly and Senior Management is very helpful in planning your career, both short and long term.
Free breakfast and a quality lunch. Free SBX/DNKN everyday and great office space with gym.

Cons – Long hours, slow growth process. Management is very helpful, but needs to keep people engaged and interested.

Advice to Senior Management – Keep refreshing work to keep people interested.

Pros – Great company to work for with great benefits and competitive salaries. Working for Bain Capital has been an extremely positive experience.

Cons – Depending upon your role at Bain Capital you are expected to go above and beyond the typical role of a job.

Pros – Bain has probably the strongest name in the PE industry and its coach/mentoring structure allows for a quick and solid development

Cons – Lifestyle and compensations are sub-optimal. Lifestyle is the worst in the industry, while compensation not at par with other firms as Bain tends to buy talent for cheap

Advice to Senior Management – There are over 700 employees at Bain of which only 150 or so are investment professionals. This huge infrastructure or support stuff is a waste

Cons – The investment teams tend to be more consultanty than financially savvy; Lots of process and busy work; Lower compensation than peer firms
