Current Employee – been working at Bain & Company full-time for more than a year
Pros – The people are outstanding. Bain has built an incredibly special culture that is down to earth, collegial, supportive, intellectually stimulating, and just out right fun. I absolutely love coming to work here and truly miss the office and our people when I'm away. That's a rarity and something I cherish each day.
Cons – Client services is inherently challenging when it comes to work/life balance. Bain has a huge number of systems in place to track work/life balance and ensure each person has a great experience overall, but consulting will at times mean travel and late nights. Overall, I've found the firm and the people to be extremely flexible and willing to help you make this career work. Everyone here is invested in their life outside of Bain, so we are all aligned towards the same goal!

Current Employee – been working at Bain & Company full-time for more than a year
Pros – Culture of openness, inclusion and fun
Results driven
Better than other consulting firms in terms of travel policies
High standards of excellence
Great pay
Cons – I just don't like consulting life:
Too little control over my own schedule and deliverable
Travel
Long hours
PowerPoint is the only medium of idea communication
Hard to specialize in my industry of interest

Former Employee – worked at Bain & Company full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – The career/geographic flexibility and awesome culture - young, vibrant, creative. I worked in four continents over my decade there.
Cons – A lot bigger (and a bit more stuffy) than it used to be. Still great but has become a legitimate 'big' company.
Advice to Senior Management – Accept other 'types' of people who might succeed in senior roles. The junior partners are not really inspiring and detracts from the value proposition

Former Employee – worked at Bain & Company full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Diligence of private equity targets in various industries, financial data analysis and modeling, market research, customer surveys, and collaborating with clients on strategy and buy-in to Bain action plans on 2-10+ person teams. Fantastic culture, you will become part of a worldwide family and make friends who will be with you for life.
Cons – Can feel distanced from true products and services, often feels like you are just giving advice rather than taking action. Can be variable, long hours, not the best job in terms of hourly wage.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
