Pros
There is a good work environment, opportunities to grow in the company, opportunities to work overseas and very safe record.
Cons
The main downside is that the salary is no very competitive, I think it is in the average of the area.
Advice to Senior Management
I think management does a pretty good job. Maybe salaries should be increased faster than they normally do. This would help to be competitive.
Pros
The base salary will be slightly bit better than competitors.
Cons
The day rate and meal allowance is not good.
Local management can treat you bad.
There are policies but not everybody knows.
Little or no appreciation on the good job being done.
Golden boy rules is a bad thing.
No salary increase.
Advice to Senior Management
Appreciate your employee.
Pros
Opportunities to go up in a pre-defined career path. Decent money and time off is numerically OK. Training is pro-active and continuos. You get to plan projects and be creative to solve problems either on the spot or to achieve a client objective.
Great bunch of people to work with, good fun.
Cons
Unpredictability of time off (average of 4-5 months off a year, but most days are scatter. 7 day working week. Paperwork can be overwhelming. Pre-defined career path makes it difficult for non standard people to find theirs. Completely responsibility and liability on the field job means others mistakes are costly to you ( Bonus cuts)
Advice to Senior Management
Be more receptive to employees perceptions and sentiments. Working environment could do with a cheer up during this troubled times.
Pros
Good Benifits with stock options, Some bases are better to work at than others.
Cons
Hard to transfer between other baker companies. Good old boys club- you get paid for who you know, not what you know. Baker allows family to work together and boyfriend girlfriend. You have to watch you back at all times. They just went to a 15-6 work week insted of 14 and 7
Advice to Senior Management
Baker needs to be ran like a business not a school yard. The rocky mountains is a horrible place to work. Cold weather, lots of work but you will be exhausted.
