    Pros

Good Benifits, great managers, very nice facilities and opportunity for career growth. Baker Hughes is a great company to work for.

    Cons

There needs to be more transparency about what's going on with the pending merger with HAL. Employees are left in the dark with news.

    Advice to Management

    N/A

    Pros

great pay, benefits, training. I had no problem negotiating the salary and benefits I wanted.

    Cons

since they're oilfield services, they cut heads as soon as rig counts decline. I had the unfortunate experience of joining within 2 weeks for the Halliburton acquisition and as crude was tanking but I think it could have been a great gig.

    Advice to Management

mergers suck. it's going to be a political free for all for a few years. hope both companies figure out how to 'do the right thing.

    Pros

I loved working there in multiple functions - the people were great, strong culture and very accessible leadership. Everyone willing to help out and pitch in. People work very very hard to achieve results for the betterment of the company: nights, weekends, etc.

    Cons

Employees in many functions (ops, product line, finance, IT, supply chain) always sad and stressed out. As the company started slipping in profitability / market leadership, it seemed like the culture changed to non-optimal decision making: self-constraining capacity, downsizing instead of prepping for the upturn, etc. Highly political in North America region.

    Advice to Management

Take care of the people during the Halliburton acquisition. It's a very stressful time right now - political, anxiety-ridden.

    Pros

    Cons

They have a lot of Cliques

    Advice to Management

Spread people around to different area of production

  11. Great opportunity, lack of internal communication made it not so great..

    Pros

Coworkers are very friendly and willing to help interns learn about the department projects one will be involved in.

    Cons

There are several communication barriers between pillars within the same department. Sometimes it is virtually impossible to get a hold of someone.

    Advice to Management

Sometimes it's hard but try to listen to what those below you are saying. The lack of communication is by far the worst weakness.
