    Pros

Quality-focused individuals who are driven to meet the expectations of the attorneys. Strong brand recognition withing the Legal community.

    Cons

Slow to make decisions due to de-centralized leadership structure. Every office / region (aka formula unit) makes their own decisions & then need to come together to perform globally. Attorney culture pervasive - detail oriented & question based.

    Advice to Management

Determine a way to streamline decision making and embrace a culture of trusting the people who work within the organization. When you hire A+ talent, you can listen to their opinions.

    Pros

To be honest the view is the only thing I looked forward to as management is frazzled and not very helpful but instead are catty and send others to do their dirty work when they have something negative to say.

    Cons

Lack of training. You only learn steps 3-5 of a process of 20 and not in the correct order either. You are furthermore reprimanded when you do the work incorrectly which is all they will ever get if not given the proper tools and and information. It seems like they don't want to be helpful even though they say ask a lot of questions-however when you do ask they don't have time and say follow the 3 steps you know (again which are not enough).

    Advice to Management

Take time to correctly teach your employees and their output will be to your standards. Like the saying goes: garbage in garbage out.

    Pros

Free Microsoft office classes. Free lunches. Career advancement.

    Cons

No tuition reimbursement. Office politics. Poor management within the file clerk department.

    Advice to Management

Provide tuition reimbursement to your employees.

Far East in loop, everything led by consensus so change is slow,

    Pros

Excellent place for legal professionals. There are tremendous opportunities for personal and professional growth. The type of work is highly complex and sophisticated. The lawyers in the firm are incredibly talented and professional. The associate transfer program is a great opportunity for associates to experience working and living in foreign jurisdictions.

    Cons

There is very little that is negative about the firm.

    Advice to Management

Consider offering sabbaticals to employees after certain periods of employment.

    Pros

Other than a paycheck... and med insurance.... none!

    Cons

As big of a law firm their management and staff decisions make no sense! then again with the billions $$ they make each year nobody really cares about anything but to find the right person to fire when they fill like it! A politics game oasis, not what you know but WHO do you know... RUN FROM THIS HELL HOLE...

    Advice to Management

none..... not like they care to listen to any...

    Pros

Work with people from all around the world. Good cultural experience. Schedule flexibility. No real accountability, if you see this as a plus.

    Cons

Poor communication between many unorganized department leaders interested in mostly guarding their turf and advancing their own careers with little interest in doing the right thing for the organization. Many, many "IT leaders" with no real expertise in their subject matter. EVERY major decision a political decision. No real accountability, if you see this as a problem.

    Pros

Location; commuting options, including shuttle to building from Metra stations

    Cons

    Poorly conceived proprietary billing process

    Advice to Management

Dump WordFlow. Horrible, and incompatible with Word 2010!

    Pros

    Great environment, experience, people, benefits

    Cons

Too many very young people as clerks. Need to hire a little older staff. Pay more to your Clerks. Salaries are below the average.

    Advice to Management

Need to negotiate salaries with your clerks on experience, not just pay a standard salary for that position.
