Pros
If you are highly motivated and document all your own achievements and communicate them outside of your management channel you stand a good chance for advancement.
Cons
HR is completely incompetent and is comprised of individuals who lack the experience or background to be in those roles.
There are many incidents where they are led on witch hunts and manipulated by employees that are known to be on the hot seat.
Senior management oft times lacks any insight to anything at the director and below level.
There are far too many clique groups and internal fraternization is ridiculous.
Best to avoid Bally Technologies until the Manhattan management group is done driving the product into resale.
Advice to Senior Management
Take some interest in middle management and get some quality hires.
Perhaps its time to get rid of the stale management and get a refresh.
Show the HR team the door and get some qualified people to actually be a resource to the company and not merely a tool for mob.
Pros
pay is okay but doin more work that not part of job.
Cons
poor training, clueless department director, poor quality of games that got to be reworked in the field (we need to be paid for doing production work tooo). if leen was working why ain't the quality getting better. no training an support for doin systems mess now that is just as bad as the games.
Advice to Senior Management
techs are the in the know about the customers issues but nobody listens and its politics as usual about promotions. this is sad.
Pros
If you want to travel and see the world, this is the place for you.
Cons
No chance for promotion or advancement.
Bally does not value its employees.
Excessive travel; 100% for some positions, but they do not tell you that during the interview.
If you want a personal ‘family’ life, Bally will not make the easy. Upper management puts their family second and their career first and they expect the same from all employees.
No internal training of any kind.
Sink or swim environment.
Pros
- Made good use of available technologies.
Cons
- Sacrifice personal life.
- Domain unknown to many people.
- Requirements not completely known until the build reaches QA team.
Advice to Senior Management
I have no Comments or suggestions.
Pros
High tech, fast-paced challenging environment. Something is always changing which is a good thing. Bally is the number one name in slot machines and gaming systems. The other companies are just wannabees.
Cons
Horrible starting salaries and even for those in mid-career. Now, top management pays themselves really well. If you are an outsider or a female, forget about ever hitting a six digit salary; unless you use binary based numbers.
Advice to Senior Management
Recognize talent. Fire everyone who was involved with the India experiment.
Pros
Leading player in the industry, mid-size compay
Cons
Too much work, slow industry growth
Pros
Friendly environment up in here
Cons
Long hours up in her
Advice to Senior Management
Show some respect. dueces
Pros
Good attractive package! and bonus per yr.
Cons
Have to do all jobs ourself. like laying a cable between slot and system.. very poor leaders .Have to work like slaves.
Advice to Senior Management
kindly involve more process in projects.
Pros
The work was pretty fine and interesting. My team lead organised work well due to which it made life a lot better. The pay was very good. I had a pretty decent time (ofcourse, though I don miss the place the least bit now!)
Cons
People need to gossip and comment less about/on others. Sarcasm and minding their own business is something which should be targeted by most of them there. More concentration towards work should be imbibed instead of staring into others' monitors, reading through others' mails, constantly monitoring fellow mates, and doing all the totally unnecessary stuff. Most of them need to learn basic etiquettes too and should stop feeling that they are the heroes and can talk any crap they want to.
Advice to Senior Management
Not interested...
Pros
Salary is little higher than the market
Cons
i) If you are technically good and have some self respect then Bally is best avoided. They treat you like their slaves. Directors shout at you as if he is the master and tries to intimidate you.
ii) No work life balance. Only if you work at least 12 hours a day you can grow up the ladder. If you go by 8PM, thats too early for them.
iii) If you know how to butter your boss/director and be his yes guy then you can grow. If you tell a No then life is going to be tough.
iv)Even though they talk nonsense at 3AM in the morning you are supposed to sit with them telling yes yes yes. If you ever tell no this is not do-able then you are treated like an enemy.
v) They donno what process is. Everything requirement comes over phone and changes 3 times a day during discussion. No body knows what they want and you donno wat you are trying to develop.
Please take my words and avoid this company. Don't feel bad as me after joining this company. You will also become outdated if you stay here for a long time. Once you stay for 2 yrs or more then I'm sure no other company will recruit you.
Advice to Senior Management
Remove all the directors and recruit some good technical managers from other companies.
Sitting all night does not mean an employee is a good / hard worker, it just means he's a fool who doesn't know how to manage time.
