    Pros

CIO was very aggressive about new technology and permitted a loose, happy work environment - all the while pushing us to be a high-functioning team. Best team environment I've even seen.

    Cons

The business was poorly managed. They grew by acquisition, not by organic growth, taking on too much debt, and ultimately dying in paroxysms of bankruptcy cycles.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Natural growth is always better (when possible) than buying competition - unless it's at a firesale.

    Pros

great people to work with and freedom of management. All long as you follow protocol with the business plan, you are able to implement your own personality.

    Cons

Futures of the company, once you hit a gm position theirs really no where to go. pay scales have gone down hill.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

bring back competitive wages for all.

    Pros

Bally Total Fitness in general have a fun atmosphere, great co-workers, and you meet a lot of great members. It is a great place to get customer service, sales, and phone experience.

    Cons

In general managers only care about membership sales. Customers are often disgruntled due to false promises and often have to call the corporate offices to get the correct information.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on customer service and ancillary services. I feel their sustainability depends on more than how many memberships are sold in a month.

I have been working at Bally Total Fitness full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Super chill work environment. Get to wear sweats, nikes, and t-shirt to work. Very good pay. If you hustle can even make much more.

    Cons

The only con I can think of is when you start in the sales team the only leads you can use are basically the cold internet leads. You get no walk ins (which are the easiest to sell). At least this is how it was at my gym. This did make me a hustler though.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

One of my general managers micromanaged. No need to micromanage in sales. Simply fire them.

    Pros

You can work out for free, and you get to meet all kinds of people you would have never met before.

    Cons

-Your salary is directly tied to your ability to schedule appointments and sell packages. Better have your entire week booked to the max to make any real money.
-Good luck getting anybody to sign up for over 1000 dollars worth of training in a none wealthy area.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Don't mislead anybody.
