    Pros

Nothing, it was one of the worst places I have ever worked. Cafeteria food is overpriced and disgusting. Most people were nice but some people felt entitled. The only good thing was the medical insurance

    Cons

Everything, poor location, terrible staffing, would rather pay tons of money for agency then have prn staff to fill open slots. Pay is not competative compared to hospitals in Baltimore/Washington area

    Advice to Management

Start listening to your employees, your ask the management question on the intranet is a joke. The answers make management sound so out of touch with the reality of what employees are going theough.

    Pros

    Majority of coworkers were great

    Cons

Manager who is completely out of touch with what is going on in her unit

    Advice to Management

Patient satisfaction starts with happy employees. When you make decisions that make employees miserable, you will have less happy patients.

    Pros

20 minute commute from my home
    Education Reimbursement

    Cons

Horrible new health care plan unless you can afford $120/mo for gold status. I don't get paid enough to afford their health care. Up until recently I was at poverty level receiving food stamps and financial assist just to scrape by. I worked in a hospital based outpatient clinic running the front office. I put in a transfer to new department where I received a meager raise, still not enough to afford their health insurance. Health insurance forces you to use only hospital based doctors/facilities, so all co workers have access to your personal medical records and yes on many occasions I have witnessed employees searching other coworkers info. when they were not supposed to be in their records at all.
Very unethical employees and management does not punish for anything. You have to commit murder in order to be fired and even then as long as you have a family member working there you don't have to worry about anything.
Favoritism, favoritism, favoritism! Facts mean nothing as long as you are in bed with the boss.

This place is like stepping into the twilight zone. Extremely surreal.

Low pay, extremely poor management skills on all levels, nepotism rules the day, malicious gossip against those not family or part of the clique, HR non-exsistant/unhelpful - HR department moved out of hospital so employees can no longer go to HR and speak with a live person; everything must be put in writing via HR intranet with very slow response rate.
Management constantly making changes, but no advances are being made from those changes.
Constant changes just keep confusing staff and make working environment very stressful.
Seen too many good employees micromanaged out the door, due to unhealthy management practices.
Very little appreciation of the workers which has caused very low moral.

    Advice to Management

Stop using Blue Cross as health insurance, they are the worst in price and in reimbursement. United Health Care is the preferred insurance everywhere and should be offered at BWMC.

Stop micromanaging your workers to death. You hired them for a reason, so let them do their job without you constantly critiquing their ability, education, and licenses. Trust your employees more, give more accolades for sticking in there and doing it when no one else would, instead of slapping them in the face saying they could be doing more, more, more, always more.

    Pros

People are friendly, get to wear jeans and football jersey to work when the Raven's are playing

    Cons

Lack of vision and mentoring, trying to make changes so fast staff cannot keep up. Little time for strategic planning. Departments do not work well together, staff are often blaming other departments.

    Advice to Management

Slow down to go faster, too much change for staff to absorb
