Pros
The employee discount was good
Cons
Management seemed to be stressed and took it out on the employees. There was a high focus on the opening of Banana Republic credit cards.
Advice to Senior Management
It is important to coach employees and encourage them.
Pros
great discounts at Gap, Old Navy, Outlet and online
Cons
the pay is not great and being recognized for your work or loyality to the company is a joke! You may be qualified, but unless you have some pull, moving up in the company will not happen. The management team does not work together, which does not provide a great working enviroment, The pressure of getting credit cards is out of control and if you are not one to get them...you will not be working much! The hours are based on that...seems like the selling experience is second to the BR credit card & the customers are tired of being harrased! You can work your tail off and be loyal to the company, but in th eend...it does nothing for you!! The turnover in employees & management is out of control!!!
Advice to Senior Management
Management needs to really take an interest in their associates and recognize the ones that are there because they enjoy it and love working with others. Recognize talent and promote from within...help develope people in your stores!!
Pros
International established brand, and a huge competitor in retail industry. Benefits package is excellent.
Cons
The compensation could be better.
Advice to Senior Management
You should include an internship program for internal employees who are interested in moving from field stores to corporate positions.
Pros
Great discount
Amazing co-workers
Supportive managers (especially the head of Men's Department, she is the BEST!!!)
Cons
The store hired 50-60 seasonal employees (if I am not mistaken), but there were only few people who are lucky to get shifts every week, it seems like, those were the same people, over and over again, maybe they have more experience and this doesn't include most people who are more motivated, dedicated and hardworking. It's very strange.
Advice to Senior Management
I have had the best times of my life, working for your store. You have thought me so many things, your training is amazing, the way you treat your employees is exceptional. I just wish, you'd see other people's dedication and potential. And hopefully, give them more shifts.
Pros
great discount! Great benefit package
Cons
too demanding, selling credit cards is too much a priority
Pros
I love the variety of worki get to do. Great work environment and incentive progams to earn extra cash for achieving sales goals and opening credit cards. Awesome discount at all brands of Gap, Inc.
Cons
The only thing I dislike is so much pressure to open credit cards. While they are important, I think the sales experience and sales goals are more important.
Advice to Senior Management
Our credit card is a great incentive to customers, but I would like to see more benefits to offer customers.
Pros
-discounts at BR, Old Navy, and GAP
Cons
-board folding!
-not given enough hours sometimes
Advice to Senior Management
They need to let their employees know how they are doing with their sales, etc. (monthly). Our old managers gave us weekly quizzes, which was good (we didn't get penalized if we did bad). They also need to be more fair with hours. The store managers only give us hours based on how many BRCs we open and how we do with sales. Other than that, everything is good.
Pros
awesome discount, discount also at Gap and Old Navy, great discount at Verizon
Cons
a very unhealthy work environment, no respect from managers, even though I have been there for awhile. Treated worse than when I started.
Advice to Senior Management
Positive feedback goes far and makes people want to do their best
Pros
Employee Discount. Great clothes. The company makes its own clothes. The stores are generally very nice and clean environments.
Cons
too much work and not enough pay. Expectations exceed those of others in the industry without the accompanying pay. Some managers have been with the company so long they don't know how to interact or train those who come from outside the company.
Advice to Senior Management
Provide better compensation. Listen to employee feedback more often. make the transition from outside the company easier.
Pros
discount is ok, they work around schedule, pay is ok
Cons
not enough hrs, pay not COE
