    Pros

Financial Consultant career with BancWest Investment Service provides a good outlet to gain experience in the Financial Planning sector. They will provide assistance to become licensed and pair you with an experienced Financial Advisor before you become a Financial Advisor. They are leniant at first with sales goals but you will receive feedback if you are grossly under producing. Commission payout are competitive.

    Cons

Upward mobility is limited because many territories have established advisors. The territories that do become available usually are in lower producing areas. Salaried positions usually pay lower than competitors.

    Advice to Management

Continue treating the customer as the number one priority and as the bank continues to grow keep the lines of communication opened to the front line employees.

    Pros

You may have a shot at getting some leads, but only if the bankers decide you're worthy

    Cons

Compliance controls everything. And, they don't even train worth a crap. Paperwork galore, ZERO support, and no way to effectively service your clients. This may have been the worst experience I have ever had as a financial advisor. Most leadership just happened to be in the right place at the right time. When leaders with barely any brokerage experience are promoted, it's time to consider a new firm. BancWest take the cake as the worst ever

    Advice to Management

Go gain some expertise at a real firm first. Don't put the FA as the low man on the totem pole. Treat them better, for gods sake, TRAIN YOUR PEOPLE! Maybe let the firm be run by a successful leader from a real investment firm. This place is a joke

    Negative Outlook

    Pros

to be able to work with Bank clients who are not happy with money market and other fixed investments......be able to cross sell and get a lot of referrals.

    Cons

The book of business is nothing but fixed annuities and lot of small accounts not serviced in years.

    Advice to Management

Be proactive....offer a salary and incentive which is aligned to do more managed money business ...step away from transactional business.
