I have been working at Banco Itaú full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

I worked for a VP called ACIVS on the headquarters.
Work for a bank has several benefits. Itau offers several other benefits at the HQ, such as a good gym at a very low cost, a library with thousands of titles, courses for expecting parents, lectures for smokers, etc.
Compensation may vary, but it is often competitive.

    Cons

Although the bank try to reinforce meritocracy, it may widely vary. Some bosses clearly have "favorites".
In many cases, when you have a long history at the bank, forget getting a promotion or a raise even if you are a top performer because they know you have more to lose if you leave than the bank does.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

OBZ (zero based budget) clearly helped to improve processes at the beggining but after a couple years it is making coordinators work as managers, managers as superintendents and so on.

I have been working at Banco Itaú full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

There are many opportunities to develop yourself in different knowledge areas, due to company size. Itaú uses the latest technology and has very solid managing processes.

    Cons

Still too much hierarchy and a liitle bit of bureaucracy. Banking industry is very formal and if you are not a fan of this style, you may find yourself out of place.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is a very solid work in progress but still there is a lot of space to improve hierarchy in the company.

    Recommends
    Positive Outlook
