Pros
Great place to start in the financial service industry. Most of the staff is very knowledgeable and great team players.
Cons
Long hours, not big exposure to the senior management, too political some times, ignore the talents and nurture slacking in some departments.
Advice to Senior Management
Work harder to retain the employees
Pros
-Vacation time even if you are part time.
-In down time you can study for your tests or read books.
Cons
-You will start taking normal customer calls with banking question, they will add more work, and more, and more, and more but the pay will be the same, no matter how many queue are you in.
-If you have questions and you can not find the answers in the training material be prepared to be treated like you are dumb once you call to the "support" line. They are always in a bad mood.
-Be prepared to run like chicken with no head if you need a supervisor.
Advice to Senior Management
Offer decent pay. If you add more work, add at least $.0.25
Take management to a caribbean vacation, they need time to relax.
Pros
Reaching the Latin community, largest Hispanic Bank in USA.
Cons
Poor management skills, no fairness at all.
Advice to Senior Management
Quest for success for Managers!
Pros
Rank and File employees were phenominal; Hardworking and loyal employees willing to take the extra mile to please the customer.
Cons
Non progressive; outdated; poor branding; singular market segmentation; Poor decision makers;
Highly political environment; Chicago - non local decisions made;
Advice to Senior Management
Get a clue! The antiquation of the software programs need improved. Too long to make decisions. People not empowered to make managerial decisions.
Pros
- competitive work/life balance initiative
- strong hispanic presence and culture
- somewhat competitive salaries compared to market
Cons
- no opportunity for advancement
- HR personnel too focused on educational requirements, and very little consideration is given to years of experience, including level of comittment and drive on the part of the employee
- senior management barely visible anymore
Advice to Senior Management
pay attention to your in-house talent, and stop recruiting from outside first
Pros
Great work family balance
Great compensation (salaries higher than other banks)
Attainable goals, and close relationship with manager
Cons
Lack of advancement opportunities
closing branches and not growing
young senior management team
headquarters in puerto rico control north america region and do not understand our markets
Advice to Senior Management
less autonomy
Pros
Was ranked as one of the best places to work by a national magazine.
Cons
Not as commited to the US as the island.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat your employees like queens.....and they will treat you and the customers like kings.
Pros
I have an amazing branch manager that has kept our branch intact despite a very unpleasant group of individuals who call themselves upper management. Paid time off accrues and can be used whenever you like.
Cons
No communication whatsoever from upper management. Bonuses and awards based on key performance indicators that don't factor in a variety of demographics or branch locations. The pay is far behind other banks while the current economical situation requires "dreammakers" (tellers) to overwork. This is due to the hiring freeze.
Advice to Senior Management
Either reinvent the way upper management promotes and retains its prized revenue generators (employees), or exit North America entirely.
Pros
Despite Senior Management sales team dedication and commitment to each other and their customers.
Cons
Working with absolutely no communication between senior management and the various divisions within the Bank; no set or clear expectations for sales performance or branding message-definitely a company with no regard for "team goals" or employee development. Coaching is defined by daily e-mails from senior management in California counting daily widgets with no regard to customer service, needs, or sales strategy.
Advice to Senior Management
Replace Vern Aguirre, he lacks communication skills and is clearly out of touch with today's banking and business environments.
Pros
Small Bank with Small Goals. If you are a conformist.
Cons
Very little growth opportunity in the bank
Advice to Senior Management
Raise the bar for your associates
