I have been working at Bank of America full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Financial Institution with broad and deep services which allows a wide range of career paths. Competative pay, average bonus.

    Cons

Work life balance can be a challenege, and leadership has a tendancy to hire from outside rather than promote from within a far amount of the time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Better leverage internal talent.

I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Great benefits. Work from home.

    Cons

Management. Bank's CEO sees technology as over bloated. Keeps laying off people, and off-shoring all the work to foreign companies. That's the easy way to manage your budgets and law suits. They keep chipping away at technology inefficiency's from all those past mergers (LONG OVERDUE). Nevertheless they keep laying off US citizens only to replace them with cheaper foreign labor. That's the reality. You will rarely if ever see a job open up to a US citizen worker.

I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Large number organization with lots of opportunities to learn about the company, network and move around in the organization. Incredible benefits. Great pay. Depending on where you work in the company, you have the opportunity to work on high-profile projects that affect large segments of customers, entire business units, regions or the entire company and ultimately thousands of employees. Very structured environment.

    Cons

Incredibly political. Very little training provided in my unit, high learning curve for how the organization operates.
Minimal employee satisfaction survey results action ever acted upon in the area I worked (communications) compared to the divisions I supported. All divisions have different pros and cons.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Advancement is determined by your ability to operate inside the organization/s and how well you work with your manager. Company typically promotes from within. Please your business partners, customers, etc, and that will help you move ahead at review time. Be sure to document successes and self-promote in the right way. The humble are few to find here because they get swallowed alive. May explain why the company has issues with stock price.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Very nice starting base pay dependent upon the location you work in. Work hours are stringent in at 8 and out by 5. Many places to relocate.

    Cons

The possibility of advancing can be almost non-existent. Management can be a joke. Sure you get sick time, but you get punished any time for using it no matter the reason or doctors excuse.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Open up more opportunity to the up and comers. Also, how about not punishing with occurences for employees using their acquired time off, instead punish if they run out & try to use what they don't have.
