I worked at Bank of America part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Part time employees still insured. Plenty of hours even with part time status. Great coworkers. Room for advancement with proven talent.

    Cons

Not much compensation. Advancement is slow. Disorganized. Micromanagement. Branch customers aren't always very nice or pleasant. Job is clearly going obsolete.

    Advice to Management

Provide more incentives or celebrate appreciation for your employees more. Don't beat around the bush when talking about how the position we currently fill will soon become automated effectively making the job obsolete.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great company to work for with good benefits and a great work lefe balance. Salary is competitive and bonuses are average.

    Cons

No clear career path in most of the areas I have worked. Tend to hire externalky even though they have qualified people within to fill the role.

    Advice to Management

Need to establish clearer career tracks for those wishing to stay in same department. Reward those who are loyal to the company rather than hiring externally.

I worked at Bank of America as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Quick onboarding. Resources available in a timely manner.

    Cons

Was treated at times with disrespect by project lead. Lead expected contractors to be Subject matter experts for product regardless of timeframe from which they were hired. Was unprofessional and threw contractors under the bus at any point in front of business partners if contractors did not know or understand business process or need. Only issue with that was Lead themselves was unable to answer or understand the process or need.

    Advice to Management

Treat contracts with respect as they are being brought in to complete the work that FTE's may not have time or expertise themselves to do. They are being brought in on a temp basis, it should be identified during the interview process as to whether or not contractor will have knowledge base as long as the role is clearly defined accurately and being transparent.
