Pros
The firms provides great work life balance
Cons
consistant treats of downsizing due to financial impacts to firm
Advice to Senior Management
Get better at strategically forecasting future acquisition negative impacts that results in displacing employees
Pros
The only limitation is self and the ability to network and grow from within. All cards are on the table if you are driven and have a goal in mind.
Cons
Being on the tech side of the house is a very thankless job. Management only cares when things don't work, then all hell breaks loose. On the other hand tech jobs will last much longer than any Project related jobs so the tradeoff might be even. I am sure this is the same anywhere else.
Advice to Senior Management
Learn how the buisness works better than the average person. Making decisions from 34k feet is a waste of time.
Pros
looks good on a resume
Cons
cultural differences, AND MANAGERS ARE NOT ALWAYS TRAINED IN BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
Advice to Senior Management
MORE COMMUNICATION
Pros
Stimulating environment, lots of change, lots of opportunity, candid performance feedback, ability to try different things, support for associate growth, pay for performance.
Cons
Recent turmoil and new BAC program has leaders not on the same page, can be pretty bureaucratic, cultural differences between legacy BAC, Countrywide and Merrill Lynch still pretty big but coming together, outside regulations place a brake on some creativity.
Advice to Senior Management
New BAC re-engineering program is a painful process but very necessary for BAC to move forward. The bank, and our group in particular had gotten pretty bloated (i.e., too many people and too many people in leadership positions) and thus inefficient.
Pros
Great pay
Excellent benefits package
Room for growth
Heafty amount of Vacation/personal/sick time
Comfortable work environment
Good work hours and flexible scheduling
Overtime eligibility
Pleasent people
Cons
The only con I have is working in the mortgage field can be extremely stressful, which can really get to a person, especially if you work in default, but I feel Bank of America recognizes this and rewards its employees with all the pros I listed.
Advice to Senior Management
Nothing. I love you.
Pros
Roles are very large scope and roles expand very quickly.
Cons
There is constant change at Bank of America.... not everyone can adapt to that.
Pros
The benefits package is great and the ability to move up in the ladder presents itself with fairness to the employees.
Cons
Management can be better with a more competent manager for my line of business. Some of the Holidays I am not able to celebrate since I am working.
Advice to Senior Management
In my line of business, my manager should be more educated than I am and hold herself accountable for the mistakes she makes.
Pros
Opportunity, large scale, many businesses
Cons
Large company issues - beaurocracy, etc.
Pros
I have made good friends with co-workers and even management. I enjoy working here for the benefits and bonus. Management is very aware of thier employees but not so much the actual work itself.
Cons
There have been alot of times where they said they would allow us to post out on x date but eveytime we got close they would extend it more. I am way overworked with too many files and cases to handle all at once. They need to even out their workload.
Advice to Senior Management
The leaders are for the most part very kind (i guess it depends on who you get) My personal manager is the best manager i have ever had in any workplace. Fun, cool, knowledgable.
Pros
Benefits, competitive pay, good opportunities
Cons
Some departments have "cliques" and you have to be "liked" if you hope to be recognized for leadership positions. To many procedures and systems that actually slow the process down and make things more complicated then they have to be. Makes it harder for the customer than it has to be as well.
Advice to Senior Management
Recognize employees more and make it easier for the customers to do business with bank.
