Pros
it is a good place if you like to work hard and can put in long hours. Most people like it there but the socila life is only ok.
Cons
Life there could be better if the pay was higher and the hours were shorter. But on the whole it is a great place to start our career.
Advice to Senior Management
Increase salaries an have senior management spend more time talking with those on the front line learning goes both ways.
Pros
The benefits are really good. As a Personal Banker you get 3 weeks of vacation within in your first year. For those employees that have children they offer child reimburment care if you are within a certain salary.
Cons
Management is not always fair to emplyees with the decisions that they make. I was hired and withing a few months I was transferred to another branch just because they neede someone bilingual. This inconvinience me because my 20 minute drive to work turned to 45 minutes. When I asked the manager if I had a choice she said that I didn't.
Advice to Senior Management
Managers need to understand and listen to employees when a decision is made that may impact their performance. This could reduce turnover and improve customer service.
Pros
Bank of America has good hourly pay. The bankers do receive a lot of recognition. The benefits are fantastic. Tuition reimbursement is up to 5000 per year for all employees
Cons
Very inconsistent with days off. The scripting is very robotic and redundant. Additionally top performers do no get good bonuses.
Advice to Senior Management
Spending 5 million dollars on building relationships with customers was a bad idea. The trainers that were placed in our banking center were not helpful at all. Logically how can you have a 7 page observation tool for a 10 minute conversation. It is ridiculous.
Pros
Bank of america provides on the job trainging and a good temporary job for students. the hours are great for students.
Cons
If you are a student or have resposibilites that restrict you from working full time bank of america does not provide you oportunites for advancement
Advice to Senior Management
allow part time associates the oportunity to advance within the company and grow while they grow themselves through hard work and education to better themselves and the company
Pros

a bad manager (and there are >some!) could kill your career
senior mgmt does not know the insides of the company
too many cronies / reshuffled senior management .. no fresh blood at all
Advice to Senior Management
listen to more than 1 and 2 down leaders
understand that middle managers make their teams feel miserable- too much politics in the middle
incompetent sr managers make bad decisions- and we dont have a way to tell the ceo
Pros
Bank of America offers a great tuition reimbursement program which allows those who are in colleges some extra money. They also offer some scholarships as well if you apply to them and qualify. They provide really good health benefits as well as workshops for those who need to brush up on they professional skills.
Cons
Well the downside of Bank of America is the lack of growth opportunities in term of the associates who have work there for a long time. There's sometime favoritism amongst upper management which will hinder the opportunity for those who are trying to get up the corporate ladder. But then again, its corporate so you gotta do what you gotta do.
Pros
Good benefits, time off if needed and very little hassle if you need time off including calling off sick, if you need or desire to work non traditional hours they have several shifts you can work, good people
Cons
Very high intense, goal oriented environement, staffing levels change every month, so as to have the right ammount of employees, call center environement with a goal of achieving accounts per hour, management wants a "one call solution" some may take several minutes, those who chose not to assist customers with possibly long calls transfer the calls back into the queue so some one else can take care of due to meeting account per hour goal. Unless a high stage of deliquency no account ownership. If customers need to call back they have to speak to a completely differrent account manager who is not familiar with theit situation. Promotions are done on achievement only, no considerations for leadership skills or ethics. High achievers who are promoted generally were ethically challenged themselves who now have to manage to a set of ethics and standards.
Advice to Senior Management
Better communication, do not promote those you know are achieving their goals by inflated statistics and taking credit for others work. Investigate when there are people whose numbers seem unusually high.
