Pros
good benefits and good salaries time off is ok

every once in a while come down to the trenches and observe, they'll be surprised how little knowledge lower management actually has

I would suggest shrinking the branch structure down because it has gotten a little out of control with too many branches

Bureaucracy and lots of red tape. The communication from leadership to associates is not what it should be. Often times there was an atmosphere of secrecy, and this lead to low morale and distrust. Could be competitive and cutthroat at times.
Advice to Senior Management
Respect and praise the hard work the associates do - in a sincere fashion. Be open to new ideas and learn to trust and delegate responsibilities. Micro-managing is never a good rule to follow.
Pros
They were flexible with work/life balance. Was able to work part-time when necessary. Was also able to switch my hours when I needed to. Benefits were good.
Cons
They were very unrealistic with how they trained people. They were very rigid and seemed to stay with a script that wasn't reality based. They would do role plays that everyone knew would not work, but they pushed the script anyway. It was as if they only listened to consultants that had no real life experience with real customers. They should have listened to employees more. They also pushed Customer Service Reps to sell bank products too hard - It got very stressful.
Advice to Senior Management
They need to seriously listen to employee feedback. When doing role plays, have the trainer be the banker, not the customer, so that they can come up with ideas to overcome the real life objections/concerns of the customers. Instead the role player plays the customer and is coming up with unrealistic scenarios and unrealistic solutions. You can't speak with real life people according to a script.
Pros
Ridiculous amount of vacation right out of the gate: 4 weeks off plus 11 holidays, and 2 weeks of personal/sick time. 401(k) match - albeit at only 3% - *plus* a pension (in BAC stock, alas) that accrues at about $150 a paycheck (bimonthly). Ability to work from home and personal conf call line, choince between working on a Mac or PC, and general autonomy make it pretty hard toleave, no matter how unsatisfying and frustrating the experience.
Cons
Lip service paid to the user's role in User-centered Design. Management ignorance of what design research/thinking are and unwillingness to explore beyond the status quo. Overwhelming amount of bureaucracy.
Advice to Senior Management
Make the investment in your people and your products/end users by subsidising designers conference attendance and/or professional development. Cross-fertilization will yield more blooms than you can imagine.
