Take landmark education
Pros

Cons

Pros

Cons
Pay is not that great to compared companies, Training isnt good, Programs are not good
Advice to Senior Management
Work together to get on one accord instead of each line of business doing something totally different.
Pros
- chance to work from home.
- always can move into different positions within the company.
- locations are always good.
Cons
- can be pigeon toed into a position
- sometimes be are promoted into position without being qualified
- always laying off, especially after law suits
Pros
Work from Home - great perk, easy to join the program, simple enough for anyone that is not client facing.
The pay is fair, even a bit above average.
We have some great managers (few and far between).
Cons
Overall Management is Poor - we have a large number of managers who walk on egg shells and will not make a decision until they have hosted a half dozen meetings on the topic. Getting things done is very tough, takes weeks to months to complete the most mundane efforts.
We reorg management every 6 months, no kidding!
Advice to Senior Management
Stop all the re-orgs and let people work in an area for at least 18 months.
Pros
Great place to start a career, especially with out a college degree or graduate degree. As long as you do a good job a stay positive, promotions are easy to come by due to the high turnover rate. The benefits package is stellar with 12 weeks childcare leave for newborn or adopted children. Great insurance coverage and tuition reimbursement. The opportunity for growth is endless as long as you can stay afloat in the demanding atmosphere.
Cons
Due to the lack of experience required, much of management is incompetent in true leadership characteristics. There are often unhealthy exchanges between associates and managers due to management by intimidation. There is also an unrealistic expectation of sales and productivity. For instance as a seller (personal banker, sales specialist, small business banker) it is impossible to say how many sales you will get today because you don't know who, if anyone is walking in the door. On top of that, we are not able to sale by solicitation so you really left to ask current customers to refer others to you and you specifically. Bank Tellers are often overworked because banks are understaffed which leads to stress and sloppy work if not careful. Bank managers are often fired if the bank does not meet (often unrealistic) goals which leads to the easy promotion.
Advice to Senior Management
I advice management to take more time in hiring and grooming new associates and compensating them for what they are truly worth. Banker positions require a lot more intellectual capacity than given credit and those that are capable of mastering the position cannot survive in D.C. for $30,000
Pros
good benefits, decent pay, good learning experience, good location, good brand name, very large bank so it was a good learning experience
Cons
bad economy, no organizational leadership, everyone looking out for themself, no parity in pay. guy doing the same job as me made three times as I did and I was educated more.
Advice to Senior Management
more leadership, pay better to keep employees, hard company to stay with due to pay, and choas, BOA has potential
Pros
You can have full time benefits on a part time work schedule.....professional atmosphere.....opportunities for advancement.....flexible work schedule.....
Cons
too large of a company to really stay connected with the people on the front lines of the bank....management is sometimes promoted prematurely and therefore makes a mess of things in the work environment
Advice to Senior Management
Be sure to hire people with management experience....make sure they are also empathetic to employees needs.....also be sure to listen to customers concerns and make necessary adjustments to work schedules to accommodate long lines in the banking centers
Pros
benefits and work from home
Cons
hughly beaurocratic
horrible employee morale
unrealistic job expectations (hours per week)
Pros
Amount of Vacation time (if you can take it)
Holidays
Benefits are Decent
Volunteerism
Cons
Compensation
Senior Management
Variability
Work/Life Balance (6 days a week most of the time)
Advice to Senior Management
Everyone needs to get on the same pagfe, so much variabilty and too many changes. I have had 5 different market leaders in the last 3 years and they all seem to work for a different company.
