I have been working at Bank of America full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Little to no micro-management, distributed work environment, flexible work location, average salary, average benefits.

    Cons

Bonuses have plenty of room for growth, salary could definitely improve when compared to other banks. Health/Medical benefits are inferior to other smaller companies (i.e. Coca-Cola). You'd expect benefits at BoA to be top-notch (i.e.: no co-pay, very low deductibles), not the case.

Employee performance reviews allow very little room for feedback from managers. Their only choices are 1) employee sucks, 2) employee is OK and 3) employee is awesome. Nothing in between can be reported.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Re-vamp and overhaul medical benefits package and bonus criteria to be more aligned to bank's size and ROI.

Increase options to evaluate employees that would be more indicative of their performance so as to render a clearer criteria for bonuses, salary increase, etc.

I have been working at Bank of America part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Experience and the benefits are ok

    Cons

They are now cutting back on tellers and will eventually get rid of them. Some days, I am the only teller working the front teller line and the drive thru and it's ridiculous ! The customers are angry, sometimes you can't even get a break, or even use the restrooms. They're takin away teller commissions, but still expect you to refer customers to personal bankers. Starting to become a terrible company

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop putting too much pressure on the tellers. Bank of America is a ver popular bank and cutting back on tellers is not smart or fair.

    Pros

Benefits are great. I am lucky to be under great Leadership.

    Cons

Some coworkers bring the place down with negative feelings about the hand that feeds them. The only that I cannot understand that as a CSR cannot disconnect a call when a customer is using foul language . We should not have to take abuse like that. The only place I have worked you can not do this.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

No advice , management is always working to approve.

I worked at Bank of America

    Pros

Fast paced environment. Multi-tasking is a must.

    Cons

Angry customers who want their fees to be waived.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't pressure your employees to sell. Don't make them sell anything, teach them in a way that they will want to sell, not be forced to. Show them the value and pride everyone must have for working for such a great company. Customers can always tell when your trying to sell them something. Instead, they have to feel like your really willing to help them and their accounts.
