I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I do like the experience I gained

    Cons

The instability of the jobs at this company. They constantly lay off their employees, it doesn't matter if you do a good job or not

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They need to identify the real contributors in the company. I experienced my peers taking credit for my work to make themselves look good and get ahead

I worked at Bank of America part-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Benefits & Tuition Reimbursement. I was lucky enough to have awesome co workers.

    Cons

Management is clueless. Work-Life balance is a joke because the company really doesn't care. Company thinks that your life IS BOA. The pay sucks. There is no bonuses. The only ones that get bonuses is management. Fakeness among management gets bigger as the title goes higher. Management needs to take people skills classes, customer service & customer satisfaction training.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow employees to voice their concerns about policies and procedures because mostly the tellers and personal bankers are the ones dealing with customers 95% of the time. Stop charging customers for everything under the sun, that is why non account holders don't want to open new accounts and the current ones end up closing and going elsewhere.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great benefits for men specifically paternity leave 12 weeks fully paid for bonding.

    Cons

It's your branch run it your way as long as you are running it their way. Half attempts at providing the full breath of the services unless you are in a flagship store

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A stupid pin and certificate are not what I would call appreciating your top performers. Niether is a poorly thrown together awards celebration at another banking center 45 mins from you in rush hour traffic on a Thursday at 5:30

I worked at Bank of America part-time for less than a year

    Pros

I enjoyed the flexibility of the job. I was able to work at Bank of America and be a full time student thanks the the management recognizing the importance of an education.

    Cons

Pay was decent but the monthly goals were unrealistic. We had to open a specific number of accounts each month but reaching this goal only happens by chance. If a person comes in looking to open an account and I direct them to the personal banker that counts!!!! I didn't like that reaching the goals were out of my control and based solely on chance.

Former Employee - Technology Delivery Manager in Jacksonville, FL

I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Training was appropriate and always on time. Benefits were exemplary.

    Cons

Work/life balance was touted but not necessarily practiced. Although vacation time was freely and generously given, time to perform responsibility interfered with time needed off. Management structure is constantly changing making it hard to have the time to build proper rapport with new management.
