Pros
Proffesional environment
Easy to communicate with management
Very good customer service
Customer oriented
Cons
Some managers arent very knowledgable
Some employees do not care they just want a paycheck
Advice to Senior Management
follow up on all promises and make sure all corrective action is taken seriously
Pros
All good benefits, nice management in place good future advancement and nice associates to work with. Plenty of re-loacation possibilities and advancement available
Cons
stale environment, big bank feel and a little cold no personal touch and with merrill lynch it is confusing to folks
Advice to Senior Management
open up the communication with middle management and come up with some cross products between investment banking and branch banking
Pros
The benefits are amazing. They offer not only maternity leave, but also paternity leave. In addition, they offer tuition reimbursment for those in college. They do often promote from within, so if you are looking to make this a career, this is a wonderful company.
Cons
The management does express some favoritism when promoting from within the branch. On some days, the hours can be very long (12+ hours), and you are required to stand the entire time.
Advice to Senior Management
Evaluate employees on their work ethic and job performance as oppose to who you like best and get along with.
Pros
Benefits are wonderful. Paid childcare, maternity leave paid for 3 months including dads. 401k plan is matched, 3 wks paid vacation. 10 sick days. Bonus are good as long as you are in hoots with your manager, otherwise they can dock you 50% of it.
Cons
Changing policies daily, one way its this, tomorrow is that. When promotions or offers end, they don't advise the staff. Management changes drastically.
Advice to Senior Management
Be human and give people a break once in a while, we all make mistakes.
Pros
Nicce Benefits package
Product capability
Cons
High expectation with low industry pay.
No support when you really need it.
Everyone is for themselves
Consistent incentive plan changes - at least 3 a year.
Loyal, long term employees are of no value
Advice to Senior Management
Do it what it takes to retain your best long term, loyal associates. They should not have to leave to get more money and help.
Pros
Good national employer with opportunity to grow and nice benefits.
Cons
Compensation is lower than competition.
Advice to Senior Management
Research compensation that is being offered by the competition. Big reason why associates are leaving.
Pros
To acquire training and experience. They have very good training programs and online lessons.
Cons
They say that they pay overtime; however, the Branch Manager instead gives you time off for the overtime hours. You usually ended up working for more than 40 hours a week without being compensated for all the overtime because the time off given is only half a day ( 4 hours) for each Saturday you work. For example, in my branch we would get half a day off for working Saturdays from 8:30am to 1:30pm without a lunch break. However, we ended up leaving at about 2:30pm to 3:00pm on most Saturdays and only got a half a day off. In addition, sometimes we got only the morning off until 12:00pm instead of the afternoon.
Advice to Senior Management
Employees should be compensated for all the overtime they work.
Pros
Treat employees professionally and with respect. They have a fairly responsive culture. The on-boarding process is going well. Everyone seems pretty friendly and genuine. The acquisition of US Trust seems to have boosted morale for those who stayed. They have nicer offices which help as well. Take a lot of pride in empowering employees. Like how there is a focus on career development and how it is not treated as a bad word (like in other organizations).
Cons
huge bureaucracy, can streamline some people (like in HR). In frequent meaningful HR communication. Not sure how the hierarchy works and no one can really explain it well.
Advice to Senior Management
work on making the bank more entrepreneurial
Pros
Insurance is very good and afforable. You will meet very affluent individual and networking is good. You will earn respect among the community as a leader and people will recognize you everywhere as thier banker.
Cons
No recognition, salary is bad, you have to work the job that most places have 2 or even 3 people to do for them, no career advancement unless you are a buttkisser with upper-management, you will find it extremely difficult to get promoted within, the trend I saw was hiring from the competitors, you cannot speak your mind without concequences, upper-management has absolutely no idea about their customers or what actually goes in inside banking centers. They are stuck way up in the clouds. The high turnover that this bank has confirms everything I just said.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat your employees good. It is hard to find loyal and hardworking employees.
