    Pros

Great Maternity/Paternity leave. Involved in the community. Great online banking. Opportunities for advancement - if you were in the right dept and were a hard worker.

    Cons

Terrible training. Information and processes constantly changed and often times the information was not passed on to the people that needed it. They could do a better job with reviewing how management treats their employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Conduct a yearly review on management where you require managers to improve where needed. Enhance training for new hires and transfers. Pass on information in a timely and efficient manner.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Started as 20HR teller, full-time 30. Vault, then Senior Teller. I left for about a year so I can pursue real estate. I then returned back home (BOFA) and was almost immediately promoted to TOS. I didm;t mind the pay wasn't so I great. I was part of a remarkable team.

    Cons

The pay could be more. After Edgar left, the Banking Center went to crap, Audits were 2 while I was on leave. If you get a 2 on an audit, the BCM should be thrown out head first.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Bank of America is top 10 bank in US and after Merrill Lynch acquisition its up in Fortune 100. So it has good namebrand.

    Cons

Poor service & company culture. Co-workers provided poor support. Experienced almost non existent comraderie and almost all co-workers were not happy working at the center --they did the job not because they wanted to or liked it but because they were forced to in order to pay their bills. Quality of people hired is low at the given branch banking center (and especially upline managers as well--they are not interested in employee well being & morale but interested in making themselves look good to either get promoted or not get fired >>>this is not conducive to high employee morale & performance - true motivators were not there). Slave wages not commensurate to volume of work causing poor morale. Immense sales pressure. Very Poor experience overall. No wonder all close friend associates that I knew left this bank after a short period of time to pursue more lucrative careers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create better wages to employees in Washington DC area where cost of living is near NYC but slave wages are near half the average in NYC (not to mention does not even match PerCapitaGDP at $50,000)! Genuinely Care about the people you hire and not just about your egos, selfish interests and your own welfare. Change your culture of greed, avarice & power hunger to one that genuinely & selflessly serves and cares for the interests of your most important assets - your human capital - if you want to see any morale, real retention & performance payback by your employees.

Former Employee - Banking Center Manager

I worked at Bank of America full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Compensation was fair. Banking hours offer a better work - life balance than most other retail positions. Work environment was generally good.

    Cons

Sales goals were often unrealistic. Sales are driven mostly by branch customer traffic and location. Traffic is declining at branch level since there is little need to go branch to open an account, apply for credit, deposit a check, etc. Upper management never admits this obvious truth, and puts goals squarely on the shoulders of front line manager.
