I have been working at Bank of America

    Pros

I enjoy working part-time and receiving benefits and a 401k. Working for a large corporation there is room for growth. As an employee you get VERY low interest credit cards, free accounts, and discounts on other loans. I love having sundays off. Working at different financial centers you meet a lot of people. Volunteer events for employees were always fun to participate in.

    Cons

Constant changes in the banking center. The company is no longer hiring part-time positions. It is possible to encounter leadership that do not support you, however this can happen at any company. The constant complaints from customers telling us we need more teller windows open. Stressful at times. Company is currently going through changes that may eliminate positions within the next coming months.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Employee recognitions have a bigger impact more than you know.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Good product, good technology to work with, fair benefits

    Cons

Continued pressure to perform or be eliminated creates work-life balance issues. The climate of continual job eliminations reduces motivation

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Place more emphasis on long tenured employees perspectives than those that are hired externally. These hires have completely changed the old "Do The Right Thing" culture

    Pros

The company had great benefits. 2 weeks of vacation and sick time from day one.

    Cons

Some managers have big egos and power trips you have to deal with. Add a lot of new things to your plate when it come to responsibilities but dont give you a raise for the new responsibilities.
