I would rather work for minimum wage than have to work for this company again.

Teller (Former Employee)
San Diego, CA

I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 3 years

ProsMy coworkers--at any location I was placed.

ConsAnything you hear about banks is true. At one point, my own manager asked me to lie to potential clients (by telling them there was something going on with a check, for instance, they were trying to cash) in order to attempt and get accounts opened. They are disgraceful and find their employees disposable no matter how great your performance is.

Good starting point...

Teller (Former Employee)
San Diego, CA

I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than a year

ProsGave me a chance to start my career, cash handling experience, learning to work under a big corporate name.

ConsReally push the sales quota for full-time tellers. There is no real incentive to increase sales quota (no commission) and the bonus was minimal. The corporate setting can be stressful.

Advice to Senior ManagementA little more incentive to get sales would help.

ProsGood on resume, learned a couple things. Decent for a first internship, introduced me to the stock market and how it works.

ConsJust did a lot of grunt work, occasionally used the computer and learned how to get friendly with their system though by sending invites to potential clients.

Horrible experience!

Senior Teller (Former Employee)
San Diego, CA

I worked at Bank of America part-time for more than a year

ProsSteady paycheck. Paid holidays. Off on Sundays

ConsThis company does NOT care about its employees. I have seen a LOT of sick coworkers come into work only to get a write-up for calling out the previous day.
Tellers make all the sales but do not get any bonuses, but only the Personal Bankers.
