Pros
Very accomodating to a life work balance.
Cons
Financial compensation is not in line with the rest of the industry. Professional and financial growth is very difficult to obtain in the technology portion of this bank.
Advice to Senior Management
Provide higher value on maintaining qualified talent versus cost efficiency. The cost cuts being done were detrimental to the actual productivity of the product.
Pros
Easygoing Management, good benefit package, a lot of vacation time, corporate discounts, great location
Cons
Too much work for the pay received, disorganized management, coworkers are not professional
Pros
Depending upon the line management i.e. old BNY vs. new BNYM true feeling of partnership still exists. Never a loss to learn something new and obtain training.
Cons
Challanging enviroment under newest leadership the belt was tightened too tight, loss of key personnel, senior management lost thier way. Stock performance is not going anywhere fast. Questionable leadership on top
Advice to Senior Management
Wake up and smell the coffee. Time to get back to basics and stop the in-fighting
Pros
The benefits are decent. They match your 401k contribution up to 5%
Cons
Assistant team leaders do not make much more than admins but Team leaders make significantly more than assistant team leaders. ATL position is the worst position in the department.
Advice to Senior Management
More pay for ATLs
Pros
Teamwork, nice colleagues
Job Promotion, office locations close to public transportation
Cons
Very poor bonus and salary increase. Favoritism on performance reviews. Senior management does not care about your development and they will lie you.
Advice to Senior Management
None
Pros
Wonderful colleagues. Wonderful networking opportunities, groups, community outreach, etc.
Cons
Communication and technology have improved over time but it took a while to catch up to other organizations.
Advice to Senior Management
Honest communication is key.
Pros
Good Benefits
Basic skills needed
A monkey could work here the jobs are so boring and simple
Cons
Horrible pay
Employees are overworked
Management has no clue what they are doing
No recogniton for good work
Advice to Senior Management
Start paying attention more. Stop micro-managing and learn everyone's job so that you can actually help out or answer questions that people beneath you ask.
Pros
Highly competent colleagues, commitment to professionalism and customer service, recognition of need for work/life balance, very good benefits, company is well-managed and has weathered economic storms better than other banks.
Cons
Raises minimal, regardless of performance and the company's profitability. Not much career growth or development.
Advice to Senior Management
Reward employees for making company's profits possible by increasing salaries, or at least create opportunities for raises through performance
Pros
BNY Mellon has a great corporate culture and industry leadership
Cons
Limited room for growth and development
Pros
Good hours, benefits are nice, salary is just okay, managers tend to be pretty nice and understanding.
Cons
Salary could be better, management sometimes "talks down" to employees. Lack of communication and teamwork between some groups.
Advice to Senior Management
Encourage better communication between different parts of the company and remember that employees judge everything and anything you say to them critically.
