I have been working at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

The staff, peers, and quality physicians. A good place to work of you are not in a management position.

    Cons

There is all new administration, and they are extremely inexperienced. It's shows through and through in regards to how the CEO and CNO treat people. They lead by fear and intimidation. The pay is low and of they want you gone, you are gone. There is little support and absolutely no mentoring. Management is spread thin and ineffective.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Generate enthusiasm and give praise
    We and not I.
    Coach and not demand.
Give credit instead of taking credit.
Active listening instead of pretending like it.
The CEO asks questions to make you think he cares, but he doesn't listen to what you have to say.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Banner is taking over the healthcare industry so it's a good opportunity to transfer to different facilities.

    Cons

They work you to the bone because they are "optomizing" which means cutting down on staff and equipment. Management is just worried about numbers and have forgotten that the employees are what make a good patient experience.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a hard look at how over worked and understaffed you are. Employees are jumping ship left and right for a reason.
