Pros
High Diversity – Christian, Muslim, black, white, American, European, Indian, etc. Everyone is able to work pretty well with each other. A very social environment.
The opportunity to learn new things is great.
Good informal communication between colleagues.
Artistic environment: most capsule products out on the market are quite beautiful and were developed via finesse.
Cons
Too much work, too little time.
Sometimes skipping steps in product development can lead to problems.
Promising too much to the clients. Clients invariably do get annoyed and pissed – not very fun conference calls to be in on.
Unwillingness in upper management to spend money on badly needed new equipment and instruments.
Departments are run as fiefs. Information is not shared. A tendency to reinvent the wheel – it just wastes more time.
No room for personal advancement
Advice to Senior Management
Sometime in the past the Banner best and the brightest came up with the NPDP, an efficient model for new product development. Recent upper management tendencies to skip steps in lieu for speed ends up leading to problems for everyone (yet not for those upper management, ironically).
Pros
The company had a strong purpose and pursued it.
Cons
High turnover. Upper management constantly in a flex and changing its mind about where the company was going. Little promotion or career advancement. Constantly watching your back.
Advice to Senior Management
Take a stronger stance with the parent company.
