    Pros

Nice, safe environment to have a career. Job stability is the key.

    Cons

Extremely busy and stressful. LGBT care and support is non-existent unless required by law.

    Advice to Management

Enact domestic partner benefits and openly support your LGBT employees, please. Get with America, not against it.

    Pros

The top level management really cares about their employees. They truly try to make it a great place to work. I liked it so well that I'm planning on going back to volunteer.

    Cons

My boss had horrible management skills. I would have stayed longer, but I just didn't want to deal with her any longer than necessary.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. Most people there are very good at their jobs and are great to work with. I just had one of the bad ones.

    Pros

People are friendly. Full time employees say the benefits are good. The hospital is highly ranked and there are opportunities for raises most years. They are very loyal to students working here and try to hire from within

    Cons

Management on this unit is not always available. There's a lot of turnover. Holiday pay for night shift people is only given for hours worked on that holiday, so if your shift starts at 7pm on Christmas and doesn't end until 7am on December 26th you are only paid 5 hours of holiday pay.

    Pros

Great place to work. Supports nursing staff. Awarded Magnet Status for 3rd term.

    Cons

Raises are small due to health care changes and growth of hospital.

    Advice to Management

Management has had several changes; however, I feel that's coming to an end.

    Pros

Great co-workers, clinical ladder opportunities, best hospital in the area, self-scheduling

    Cons

Working every third weekend, slow new hire pipeline process, sub par health insurance

    Advice to Management

Increase the number of applicants that get interviews. Many new grads are auto rejected via human resources, and HR doesn't have a good feel for what is truly needed with patient interaction.
