Advice to Senior Management
go to school
Pros
Very supportive and positive environment.
Cons
Compensation for Nurses is below the national average. There was recently a raise freeze.
Advice to Senior Management
BSA is losing some wonderful and knowledgable employees due to low compensation packages offered. They should pay much more.
Pros
Good pay, nice hospital, best hospital to work for in this area. My supervisor and manager are fair and care about their employees.
Cons
Bonus and raises have been frozen for employees while executive pay continues to be extremely high. 401a has been suspended, also.
Advice to Senior Management
Reinstate raises as soon as possible! Lower the price of food in the cafeteria for employees - it has gotten much higher.
Pros
Growing hospital
Nice co-workers who do their best in a tough situation
Cons
Promotions given not based on excellent patient care - but who your girlfriends are...
Five different ER unit directors in as many years
Will not get rid of slow or incompetent RNs - just move them to plum desk jobs
ER design looked like a prison setting
Since only two hospitals in town - not enough competition to stir competitive wages for RNs - their attitude is take it or leave it.
Advice to Senior Management
Hire experienced talented RNs and PAY them. Design an ER that is staff-friendly with a good-sized break room.
Pros
the benefits are very good
Cons
the management needs to communicate better
Advice to Senior Management
listen to employees
Pros
My co-workers are very kind and easy to get along with.
Cons
Not financially stable. Third round of layoffs in a year were announced today. We are all already under a salary freeze.
Advice to Senior Management
Control the spending in the good times as well as the bad. Then you won't have to lay people off during the rough spots and there will always be rough spots.
Pros
The people I work with are the best
Cons
Benefits are getting worse. Staffing issues are are now becoming safety issues.
Advice to Senior Management
Put more nurses on the floor on all shifts. Start thinking about the liabilities of short staffing.
Pros
The people I work with are the best! They are supportive and in general we all work as a team. Although we do use team nursing we all have a teamwork approach.
Cons
The insurance is the only real drawback to the benifits. The coverage is not the best for the price I pay.
Advice to Senior Management
Please work on a better insurance package.
