I worked at Bar Ilan University

    Pros

It is the only Zionistic univeristy. It has a religious atmosphere, although it have become rather weak. In general, the faculty is not left wing.

The overall atmosphere in the departments is much more friendly than other universities in Israel.
It has a good location in the center of the country.

    Cons

Pay, politics, overall state of academia, quality of the students, push for publications (not all of which need to be high quality), low overall quality of the support infrastructures (library, computer services, facilities, technical equipment, an so forth)
Political nature of the promotion decisions.
Status relative to the other universities

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Build up the quality of the institution; focus more on the applied world and interacting with industry
