Pros
The paypackage, brand are assets
Cons
lack of visibility, politics are the cons
Advice to Senior Management
the organisational structure should be appropriate to the kind of market you are in
Pros
work life balance is good - many people work from home.
Cons
- talk of big ambitions but lacking the will to break with a "clubby" past and reward/penalize based - on merit
- very political, low levels of trust between senior and middle management
- has talked of becoming international for some time but highly UK centric - would prefer if "they" could be more like "us"
- technology and HR (talent management) are shockingly poor, even for a large organization
Advice to Senior Management
now that they have brought in a lot of senior management talent again, they need to make sure this talent can work together and not build new fiefdoms, again.
Pros
Diverse organisation with opportunities for growth in multiple functions and industries
Global reach and presence
Bank is independent of government financing
Cons
Too many re-structures and leadership changes in the 2010-2011 period - therefore a lot of initiatives lack continuity and momentum
Advice to Senior Management
Promote stability amongst the leadership team
Provide greater transparency in reward and performance
Systems, infrastructure and platforms need to be upgraded
Pros
good exposure and take responsibilities on actual work that can affect the organization
Cons
Demanding work throughout but thats a general banking con.
Advice to Senior Management
Great leadership very helpful and insightful to drive employees to success
Pros
Some good and talented people, who are usually marginalised, under-rewarded, and exploited
Cons
Constant churn of senior management who are brought in from outside and who are frankly incompetant. Back stabbing is rife, there is no strategy, people take credit for things others work hard on, decisions are made that would make a mad man scratch his head. There is no future for IT staff based in the UK - its ALL being moved to India. Current management have sacked hundreds in support roles, the number of live incidents goes up, but apparently the two arent linked ! I am off...
Advice to Senior Management
Wake up before its too late.
Pros
Multinational
Brand name well recognized globally
Global network
High calibre employees
Individual initiative encouraged with accountability
Bold behavior personality encouraged
Cons
Work pressure
No work life balance
Numbers driven without much mentoring time by immediate boss
Advice to Senior Management
Take more time for development of lower level employees
Intoduce training and courses to improve motivation levels of junior employees
Listen to employees and increase engagement
Motivational tools can include takingninterst in employees families and organizing group activities involving families
Pros
popular with the public and
Cons
low salary and the work takes too much of our time and we would ahve liked to have more holidays
Advice to Senior Management
i will adivuse them when i am a manger when they can hear me out but not now please wait
Pros
A very grown up organisation to work for. Flexible working arrangements, employees well looked after with very good benefits eg leave/holiday, pension etc.
Cons
Same as most large corporates I suspect eg red tape, resistance to change (although it is getting better with current leadership),
Pros
Brand, products and Market share
Cons
Low resources, ace performance does not really work as a performance measure
Advice to Senior Management
Leave room for creative people and provide more transparent opportunity for career movement and mobility
Pros
Good people who try very hard
Cons
Very little in the way of quality leadership.
