    Pros

    If you into politics I suggest congress or house of representatives - you are better off at those places, rather then at barcrap.

    Cons

    where to start:
    - long hours - while you are underpaid
    - crappy management - with no support or investment into your future
    - No promotional opportunities unless you are willing to sacrifices your morals and character

    fire all middle management and replace

    Friendly team, good to learn things on investment, if you start from different background like IT. Plenty of space to grow within the department.

    As the culture of big firms, you are boxed in, ie. switch from IT analytics role to quant or trading is next to never.

    Work is very good! Challenging especially if you are into development. Learning curve is also high

    Not very good work culture. Training is good, but people are not friendly and are workaholics.

    There's still some collegial culture left over from Lehman Brothers

    Cons

    The "Wild West" culture has nearly taken over. Also, the bank itself is shrinking because of all the legal issues due to aforementioned culture.

    Good benefits, upper management recognition of need to change the culture and reduce complexity by shrinking the IB.

    Cons

    The poor IT infrastructure cannot meet regulatory requirements. Deep mistrust between departments. Lots of meetings that accomplish nothing. Stunning lack of communication.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    If you want Barclays to be a bank with integrity as per the firm's bylaws, you should start by not lying about job scope and functions during interviews.
