    Pros

Well... Good name on your resume. Smart and agressive people. Lots of stuff to learn. You can get all of these from another investment bank though.

    Cons

Miserable work environment with NO bonus... Never ever trust whatever they told you during your interview or negotiation. None is true.

I worked at Barclays Capital full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Casual corporate environment; friendly and open environment; work-life balance encouraged; great company for performers that are not seeking further advancement.

    Cons

Project development is controlled from the top down with little transparency; stagnant workforce with constantly changing compensation strategy; salary increases and promotions are extremely hard to come by; frequent management changes at the top result in staff restructuring (i.e. unpredictable lay-offs for non-producing employees: corporate, technology, operations, anyone who does not "manage up").

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve talent recruiting, perform a single review/cull of existing staff and focus on generating current talent retention with improved mobility with salary increase and promotion incentives.
