I have been working at Barclays Investment full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Friendly staff and open door policy for senior management. Easy to engage staff across groups leading to career mobility. I have worked on two teams and have enjoyed both.

    Cons

Minimal raises for those outside of front office but were given every year. Bonuses vary, but are increasing as regulatory concerns subside.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time understanding what each unit does and ask for candid advice from all team members regarding work ethic and behavior of others.

    Pros

Competitive salary and health benefits. Opportunities to get involved in a large number of projects. Lots of networking events for all levels.

    Cons

Low morale across all teams: front, middle and back office. A lot of bureaucracy for the smallest changes and processes, further adding to the low morale.

    Advice to Management

Continue to improve communication and further investment in technology and talent. Otherwise, the company is being run efficiently given its size and positioning.
