    Pros

Pay is good. People are friendly and quite helpful.

    Cons

I was placed in a perfectly mismatched role. This might be a rare case but my resume wasn't read before recruiting into the team! I guess!

    Advice to Management

It would be great if you can ask for employee preferences and place them according to their skill set.

    Pros

Good people with good morale. Awesome managers and they also believe in working just as much as their staff does, if not more.

    Cons

Outsourcing to India and other places. People afraid to move into other positions because they don't know how long they will have their jobs here in the US.

    Advice to Management

Give people opportunity to train others in the outsourced areas without reducing pay.

    Pros

My manager was nice and knowledgeable ...if you stayed past 9pm, you received a company paid meal and a taxi home

    Cons

No work life balance.....paid about $15k below market, no bonuses for analyst, management had no idea how to run the business, rough culture and people to deal with

    Advice to Management

Focus on talent, make better business decisions, create a better culture

I have been working at Barclays full-time

    Pros

Big firm, lots of opportunity to move up with all the turmoil and turnover at the bank right now. Focus on citizenship and service.

    Cons

Used to be a legit bulge bracket bank, has fallen apart as of late and is losing most of its talented people.

    Advice to Management

Reward your talented people so they do not leave to competitors. If you want to be the best you need to pay what the best pay.

    Pros

Great people, management will depend on which department you work in and to who to report to. It's too large of a firm, many volunteering opportunities that allow the employees exposure to senior management and cross functional teams, very good at providing training and career advancement.

    Cons

Unfortunately too many lay offs, so very talented people are either being let go or leaving on their own.

    Advice to Management

Practice transparency around workforce reduction exercises. People have families and commitments they have to meet.... so planning is crucial if you are being let go.
