Barrier is a fun and exciting place to work when everyone is respectful to those of lower job titles.

    I worked at Barrier Motors

    Pros

If you drive a Mercedes you get great discounts of parts and labor costs as an employer

    Cons

Pleasing every customer can be a challenge at time but the fulfillment when you are successful at this is exhilarating.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Every job title be it inferior or superior is essential to making the company fun smooth and efficient. Don't discriminate on who you micro manage.

I have been working at Barrier Motors full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

No shady practices, no smoke and mirrors. Customer service is of utmost importance. Strong name recognition and reputation. Great training.

    Cons

You work every Saturday and Sunday and often on your days off. Most holidays as well. A constant grind with numbers and bonuses to reach.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward employees who put the work in and stay around to help prevent the large turnover in sales associates. Rotate in one Sunday off pr.month for all Sales Associates after a year with the company.

I worked at Barrier Motors full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Employee pricing on service and parts for represented makes, and free unlimited car washes make the otherwise unremarkable compensation plans tolerable.

    Cons

Top-heavy advertising strategies and sometimes non-competitive pricing strategies can be cumbersome. Also, sub-par medical benefits choices aren't popular with families unhappy with Group Health.

    I worked at Barrier Motors

    Pros

Sense of professionalism; tremendous facilities; great support from service and parts employees. Realistic work schedule, some autonomy in job performance.

    Cons

Like any dealership, the sales management has a direct affect on the success of the sales staff; their failure to get totally involved can make or break a cohesive team.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have adequate management support when it is needed by all employees rather than favoring one or two employees. Too often, managers were unwilling to get up from 'the desk' to help in performance of duties.

    Pros

There is a prestige of being a Barrier EMployee. It is a high end dealership, and treats their employees very well. THe customers are in awe of most of the employees at Barrier, because of the level of integrity with in the dealership.

    Cons

THe measure of income could be better. And it can be a bit slow at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
