Honest and fair, but long hours.

    Sales (Current Employee)
    Bellevue, WA

ProsNo shady practices, no smoke and mirrors. Customer service is of utmost importance. Strong name recognition and reputation. Great training.

ConsYou work every Saturday and Sunday and often on your days off. Most holidays as well. A constant grind with numbers and bonuses to reach.

Advice to Senior ManagementReward employees who put the work in and stay around to help prevent the large turnover in sales associates. Rotate in one Sunday off pr.month for all Sales Associates after a year with the company.

Barrier is a fun and exciting place to work when everyone is respectful to those of lower job titles.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsIf you drive a Mercedes you get great discounts of parts and labor costs as an employer

ConsPleasing every customer can be a challenge at time but the fulfillment when you are successful at this is exhilarating.

Advice to Senior ManagementEvery job title be it inferior or superior is essential to making the company fun smooth and efficient. Don't discriminate on who you micro manage.

If retail car sales is your goal, this is a professional and upstanding place to hang your coat.

    Sales Manager (Former Employee)
    Bellevue, WA

ProsEmployee pricing on service and parts for represented makes, and free unlimited car washes make the otherwise unremarkable compensation plans tolerable.

ConsTop-heavy advertising strategies and sometimes non-competitive pricing strategies can be cumbersome. Also, sub-par medical benefits choices aren't popular with families unhappy with Group Health.

The best car dealer I have ever worked for.

    Salesman (Former Employee)
    Bellevue, WA

ProsSense of professionalism; tremendous facilities; great support from service and parts employees. Realistic work schedule, some autonomy in job performance.

ConsLike any dealership, the sales management has a direct affect on the success of the sales staff; their failure to get totally involved can make or break a cohesive team.

Advice to Senior ManagementHave adequate management support when it is needed by all employees rather than favoring one or two employees. Too often, managers were unwilling to get up from 'the desk' to help in performance of duties.

ProsThere is a prestige of being a Barrier EMployee. It is a high end dealership, and treats their employees very well. THe customers are in awe of most of the employees at Barrier, because of the level of integrity with in the dealership.

ConsTHe measure of income could be better. And it can be a bit slow at times.

Advice to Senior Managementkeep up with Jimmy's promise ot the custoer it really works.

Car dealership like any other, work late, work weekends, get dirty looks for taking scheduled time off.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

    ProsCool cars, lots of customers.

ConsLong hours, upper management wants you to work late and on weekends but they are no where to be seen.

Advice to Senior ManagementCar about your employees more than you care about your image.
