    Pros

Not difficult, no experience needed, a lot of available hours, "free" ice cream, and waffle cones smell really good

    Cons

Minimum wage, you learn the weird smell combination of ice cream and bleach, and then you continue to smell like that when you leave, couldn't accept tips at my location, opening gets boring because you work alone.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow a tip jar. It makes minimum wage suck less.

  8.

Takes advantage of younger workers but is an easy first time job to get.

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Fun environment, cannot eat as much ice cream as you want, only can have one small scoop per shift worked.

    Cons

Had to do lots of hard labor intensive work for such a small ice cream store and got paid less $6.55 per hour when under 18 in 2009.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be nicer to younger workers and don't make them be taken advantage of by the older workers who don't want to do the dirty work. Offer bonuses for good work or some kind of reward system.

  9.

Fun friendly atmosphere the tips make it worth working here

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Great friendly atmosphere pretty easy to catch on to how to make everything (different smoothies milkshakes breezes freezes fraps customized drinks brownie sundaes etc.. basically just making people happy by serving them ice cream or their choice of beverage and you get a lot of tips fast!

    Cons

You won't get that many hours working here the most they ever scheduled me was 52 hours per TWO weeks so about 26 hours a week usually less

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Give your workers more hours

Former Employee - Part-time Scooper in Sacramento, CA

    Pros

The perks of this job is the free ice cream (one scoop per shift) and the pay is okay if you are in school and looking to have some extra cash in your pocket.

    Cons

I developed arthritis in my wrists from scooping ice cream 6 hours per day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management will differ depending on if they are a positive individual or not and if they have good leadership skills. in my case, leadership was so so. One of my managers was a great guy and would let us have a good time during work and the other acted as if we were running the military operation. Get managers that care, and everything will be fine.

    Pros

The only good thing about working here was making lifelong friends. and sharing a common enemy lol the Corporate Owner and Upper Management

    Cons

Poor upper management like the corporate bosses think shift leaders and store mangers don't deserve at least $9.00 and hour

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Go somewhere else
