Pros
This company genuinely cares about it's customers and gives its managers the freedoms to lead. They really care about their associates. (most of the time)
Cons
The company does a good job of balancing shareholder value and customer service, but they need to do a better job of making it easier to do business with. (too many silos between departments)
Advice to Senior Management
Let's make sure we don't drop $100 to pick up a quarter and reach out to those who deal directly with customers before implementing things.
Pros
Largest casket manufacturer in America with stable cash flow.
Cons
Senior management are all relatively new with lack of market and customer understanding. Team environment is not consistent and there's too many silos.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to the customers and the associates in the field...as they're in the real world environment. Drop the arrogance attitude and value those who make it happen every day.
Pros
Largest Casket Manufacturer in North America
Cons
Company situated far away from two decent size cities
Pros
Easy going fun place to work
Cons
No room for advancement must have college education to advance
Advice to Senior Management
Let the employees contribute
Pros
Company is actively trying to manage costs and expand business opportunities.
Cons
None. I think they're doing what's necessary to satisfy stockholders.
Advice to Senior Management
None
Pros
Good compensation and benefits. Great team atmosphere and immediate impact on real-life projects. Stable employment with personal development. Many people stay there 20+ years. Senior management is close and very accessible. Very accomidating to families.
Cons
Somewhat adverse to working remotely unless for reasons such as doctors appointments, sick kids, etc. Few levels of management which can make you consider what advancement is like.
Advice to Senior Management
BCC is a great place to work for the family oriented but not as attractive for the younger generation.
Pros
Batesville is an intense manufacturing environment. Great benefits and compensation. Great place to learn new things and to get exposure to lean manufacturing.
Cons
The politics ran deep. Topgrading ruined the management system and allowed a lot of caring and talented employees to depart.
Advice to Senior Management
Look a little deeper than the friendships. Go to your manufacturing plants and walk the floors to see what is really going on. Pay closer attention to your customers in the field.
